Hi Folks,

besides the problem, that both english and german seem to be mixed up in the version, i encountered two -TECHNICAL- bugs:

1) the Victory Points Display is not working. neither when pressing f1 nor when trying to access it through the f6 menu.

2) not really technical. more a -GAMEPLAY- bug: the manual states that i (catholic) can convert muslims by crushing revolts (until population is below 5000) and sending a colonist into that area. problem is: the population WILL NEVER EVER drop below 5000. i have been besieging, assaulting, crushing and whatever else Andalusia for 15 years by now. the population reaches 5000 at times, but NEVER drops below that value.

Sorry Folks, but this is annoying. how can I play a GC if I a) don't know who is winning (no VP display) and b) cannot eliminate my sole two muslim provinces (5000 problem) ?

Do I have to wait for 'the patch' or is it just a value within these .csv-files that I could change manually ?

Any help is desperately needed !
Cptn Kiff

On #1 i'm not sure what you mean?

2) Andalusia has a Center of Trade. A city with a center of trade can never drop <5000.

erm i dunno the logic behind howcome a COT's population can never go below 5000, but umm does that mean, southern spain stays muslim up until the 18th cc?!?

Thank you very much for your prompt answers.

To be more specific:

1) VP-Display: If I press F1, EU displays '0 VP' for all countries, no matter at what stage of game. If I press F6 and look up the VP-chart, EU diplays '0 VP' for all countries. And if I decide to quit EU, the VP summary claims again - you might be guessing it already - '0 VP' for everyone ...

2) I am trying to convert both Andalusia and Sierra Nevada. I am not sure which of them i got down to 5000 pop. The manual reads 'If you send colonists in provinces with less than 5000 population then you can convert these provinces. Your colonists work as missionaries'. So if I got you right then I will have to live with a muslim Andalusia as it has a COT but I might concentrate my effort on converting Sierra Nevada, right ?

1) Please check your settings in the scenario menu.. Have you accidentally put BaseVP to off (sorry i dont know the german word). If that setting is off, then you will always have 0 vp.

2) Sierra Nevada should be convertable.

Converting province is a hard challenge.

You will need a lot of revolts to see province going down 5000.
Try this: make your province going down to 5000.
Then wait for the province going back to revolt.
When this happened, put down siege, and watch carefully the population. While your population is higher than 5000, dont assault fortress, but wait that population go exactly to 5000 (you will eventually have to leave siege and come later if the fortress is near to surrender). Then finished the siege.
Normally your province will drop below 5000.

I am a little disturbed to hear that a Spanish player can't convert Andalusia to Catholic. If the game starts in 1492, all of Spain should be Catholic. The Expulsion of the Moors. Remember the Inquisition.

Can a player change this in the data files?

That is without getting into legal trouble? :D

In 1492, Granada, the last Moorish stronghold was conquered. The Moriscos weren't actually expelled until the early 17th century.

It should be possible for the Spanish player to 'convert' the provinces, though.
From what the beta-testers have said, it should be very easy to change this in the files, if you so desire.

1) alright. I'll check this.

2) Got them both ! It took me some decades of hard work, but I finally succeeded in converting Andalusia AND Sierra Nevada. How to do this. Right after a successful siege pop drops below 5000 (in my case: 4996 resp. 4999). I sent in two colonists and the work was done. Still it seems that also COT's can drop below 5000 ...
