If we can control all the battles, what would be the point of the historical leaders? I mean, the system works fine the way it is. If my random leader controlled by me can outmaneuver and rout an AI controlled Tilly, any sense of historical "propriety" will be lost.
This "feature" has been requested a lot in this forum by a number of people, but I can't see the appeal here. I enjoyed Shogun for what it was, but it was clear that the strategy game was an afterthought to the 3D battle engine - which was beautiful (and no more unrealistic in C and C than simultaneous invasions in India, America and Europe in EU). In EU, the strategy overlay IS the game.
