Right. So 3 of the strongest nations in the game (Spain and Portugal the 2 richest and France probably the strongest military) gangbang Venice, the weakest nation in the game (Portugal only as funder though) and demands 6 provinces. That may be fair in your eyes, but it sure as hell ain't the kind of game I am interested in playing.

It was a fun game (although with some issues) up till this session, but I really ain't interested in wasting my time on EU2: The Risk version. That was fun in Fantasia, not here.

I won't be playing with you again, as I don't share this mentality.

Have fun completing this.

Well. After Hive quit as Venice, I took over as a perm. In about 5-10 years, I annexed Morea, Ionia off of the Ottoman Empire, and annexed Genoa and Istria off of Austria with French and Spanish assistance. I also brought Venetian income from about 90 to 310ish, and am currently placing CCs everywhere.

Towards the end of the session, Austria and the Ottomans dowed Venice, and Venice ended up giving Morea and Iona back, but it was okay, since the Ottomans then dowed Austria which forced Austria to WP Venice. France is also willing to give Milan back to Venice, which makes everything great.

ATM, the Venetian income actually surpasses Ottomans and Russia. I ended up crashing in the final 10-15 minutes of the game, so I may lose a couple monopolies, but thats it.

devil, please tell me why you backstabbed me without any warnings what-so-ever.

If it's because I received 300d from Sweden, then I must hand it to Melchior: not only did he cheat, he also used it for his own good by getting an alliance with Spain and Portugal. Thanks.

Oh, and how come you were against Slargos' rather large alliance when you yourself create a much stronger one that's far more unbalanced, devil?

Well. Sweden finally realized its goal of Baltic supremacy. Thank you, Prussia. :D

Because of this, no more offensive wars need be launched.

Of course, should Sweden be embargoed or the gargantuan spanish alliance stay together, any wars launched are viewed as defensive in nature..

One of my worst-played sessions in a long time, regardless I somehow ended up still in decent shape. AUstria is just plain frustrating with this engine, they seem incapable of generating competitive incomes. I suppose tho as long as money is sent, Their armies and leaders are dangerous.

Hive, I sorry you are so angry at me. :( I informed you one week ago our alliance was dead, and I had joined "another". Melchior gave me a good deal, and yes I couldn't trust you.

Since you so easily accepted poland to be partition, and there was only 100 years left, we concluded an attack on you was acceptable. You were controlling territory we wanted. And as you can see venice was accepted into the alliance again and boosted. Gaining genoa and istria. Now I know this wouldn't be acceptable behavior in any other game, but the fact is we have no rules on alliances or provs per. war, since slargos is using them I need to use them, else I can never keep up, playing the nice guy.

I am still against slargos and his big alliance, so my alliance was to counterbalance his powertrip in north europe. I am not saying it will stay so, I know porto wants to declare neutrality again, but he paid me good to protect him, I couldn't say no to that... :(

I hope will see past this, really nothing personal, it is a game :(

Well, since Spain decided to not fight Austria for some reason (I don't know why), Venice would probably have lost Genoa and Istria back to Austria after it was dowed by Austria and the OE. However, it was saved by the OE deciding to dow Austria next (after the OE took Morea and Iona). I'm sure Spain will be more helpful in the future, though :D

Bullshit. Why couldn't you trust me because of the Poland thing? I stated from day 1 of Slargos' unbalanced mega alliance that I was against such big alliances, and I stated from day 1 of Poland's entrance into our alliance that I felt the alliance became too big. So I then tell you that either I leave or Poland leaves. You chose Poland.

I say that I don't want to fight for Poland, because it was a lost battle. Slargos' henchmen Lotus and Melchior was standing by to intervene if we would look to defeat him, so the result was given.

But saying that it was *I* who partitioned Poland is plain stupid. I had not expect Slargos to take 6 provs, and I complained about it. Noone can possibly have missed my complaints...

So after you chose to boot Poland from the alliance instead of me, I thought that I could just as well use it to gain some cash from Slargos. Why not? I didn't make any deals with him, and I didn't help him with anything. Not intentionally. I explained this to devil.

But devil wouldn't have known at all had it not been for Melchior cheating. And not only did he cheat, he also did the cheesy thing and used it for own gains - by telling Spain and Portugal that they couldn't trust Venice, England and Sweden. And Portugal sure couldn't, because we were planning a secret (well it was secret until Melchior checked the logs). I was not going to betray Spain in any way though, and would have sticked with him. He was the one initially wanting me to dow Portugal btw.

The war on Portugal had been kind of a gangbang too, I admit that. But there's a difference: Portugal is the richest nation ingame, and have more provinces than anyone else. They could afford losing a few provinces to each. Venice had 19 provinces, and 6 were taken. that's more than 1/4 of my nation in 1 war.

If minor nations are nothing but cannon fodder to you guys, then why include them at all?

devil said:

Yes, it's just a game. Your purpose with games might be to win every time, no matter the costs - and no matter how the game is won. I however paly with the aim to have fun, and I most certainly didn't tonight. And when I don't have fun in a game, I don't want to waste time on it.

And really, 1 thing is that you backstab me without any pretext - you could at least have given me 1 on 1's... I mean, the 3 strongest nations in the game teams up against the weakest... not exactly sportsmanship...

I'd rather not attacking anyone, actually. Slargos and I are often at each other's mercy, and opportunism does not become me :D.

England had a productive, but rough session. After enjoying excellent growth and stability under Damocles, England shortly suffered a crippling series of stab-hitting events that largely destroyed its trading, bringing income down by about 90 ducats/month. At the end of the session, England has regrouped, and stands to regain its former heights in income within a few years, from whence will spring conscription centers and shipyards.

Great Britain largely remained neutral despite a series of huge wars except to send troops to fight for France and Venice when Spain's military assistance proved... lacking, as well as to secure its rights in Canada against Prussian encroachment. The Huron nation was destroyed, ridding North America at last of all the native savages. Though England lacked generals in this time period, two have shown themselves near the end of the session, ensuring a viable English presence on land.

England looks forward to continuing to build its wealth peacefully and convert heathens, having tired of these endless European wars. May it be so.
