I don't really think it can be done with EU4 but perhaps with EU 5 in a few years more facets to the game could be added.

I will use a game I played to death called Civ 4. (I bought civ 5 when it came out, it had major bugs which drove me away - like playing on hardest difficulty but it felt like easy).

Anyway, they have various ways to win the game. One of which is cultural victory. Its not just about getting 3 cities with high culture, its a culture war for borders which was fun, Generating great people, Building wonders, Religion, Etc....

What I like about Crusader Kings II is that its not just about conquering the known world. It has many facets. Spread your dynasty, get high prestige, high piety, the genetics game, etc....

Eu4 has conquest and sort of a trade game. Religion is just about which military bonus's you want.
The EU4 time frame is the Renaissance. Cultural Rebirth. ...but there is nothing about that. Elizabethan Plays, Fredrick the Great and his push in the arts, Advancement of astronomy, etc...

I think it is way too early to suggest thinks to EU5, as Paradox seems to make EU games every six years, thus 2019 release.

Games start being developed well before they're ever revealed to the public so if you want to suggest any fundamental changes you have to start early.

EU4 was started two years before the announcement, this is known, thus this is still way too early to suggest.

well you have to give suggestions early or otherwise once it gets started you simply can't go back and change fundamental parts of the game. - already spent tons of man hours programing the game to be a certain way.

If you build a game off a previous games template then that makes the programing easier too. ...why do you think call of duty gets a new game every year? ----> its the same game!!!!! lol. $$$

I suggested this type of change for EU5 because the way EU4 is set up you can't just put something like this in. The game is very conquest focused.
If they got 4 more years of Eu4 maybe they can do an expansion that implements some flavour in this regard but nothing significant.

I see no harm in making suggestions early - certainly very much better than making them late.

One thing that rather disappointed me in EU4 is the Royal Marriage mechanics. I had pictured a complex mini-game where you have the family tree of each dynasty, and where you try to pair your offspring off with suitable mates. Instead, it's a "Marry" button, you click it, bam, someone is married to someone. It doesn't even tell who got married.

I haven't played CK, but from the marketing blurb/wiki text, it seems like the type of game I had in mind, only as a full-blown game and far more complex than Royal Marriage in EU should be. So basically, a much stripped down dynasty simulator like CK as a mini-game in EU would add a lot of depth and historical context, imo.

Ultimate combo move: players who own both EU5 and CK3 can play a fusion of both games; conquest, trade mechanics, etc. from EU and dynasty from CK. (You're gonna need a bigger dev team.)
