I'm curious whether EU 4 under the Clausewitz engine will have multi core support? I have a great laptop, but the cpu is intel i5 2nd gen - which has been the bottleneck for V2 so far.
My understanding was that new PDS games and expansions released after Divine Wind have multi-core support (i.e. CK2, TFH, and AHD) so I would safely assume EU4 will. (Maybe some support in Sengoku and FtM as well.)which has been the bottleneck for V2 so far.
Yes it [MotE] supports multi-core processors.
HOI3 and V2 with the latest expansions also benefit from multi-core.
Multicore isn't just something you do - It's not "all in or all out". It's not like you magically flip a switch and all X cores of your processor are suddenly used equally for your software. (Sadly, heh)
Actually I don't think DW has it, just everything developed after DW. Could be wrong though; what are you using to check?I tried opening HOI3 and EU3 to show a before-and-after comparison with EU4, and was confused when they showed similar quantities of threads. Then I saw that jdrou said above that PDS added proper multi-threading in later expansions to those games, which I have (TFH and DW respectively.)
Why are people talking about threads and cores like they're the same thing?
you can get more cores as you like by spending admin power, or diploannex a vassal![]()
