Hey, I just did a WC by 1600 with Japan... does this mean I'm better than Morpheus?

EU2 is much to predictable, fun but predictable, especially with your much vaunted historical events. example

I spent the better part of a hundred and fifty years making a strong alliance with Lithuania when I was Russia. the Polish annexation comes around despite the fact the Poland and Lithuania had fought a war (In which Poland took a Lithuanian province) and their relations were -90 or less.

I had anticipated having that ally for awhile, not seeing them get annexed by their enemy. So basically you can play as Poland have horrible relations with Lithuania and still annex them.

There was a thread about this a while back... and whilst i think that EU1 is more fun... the two games compliment each other imho.

Is there really that big a difference?? The major change for EU II is the ability to play all nations. But with the Improved Campaign you can paly all nations in EU. I just started playing EU II, it does have "extras" but not enough for me to highly rate one over the other.

EU2 is better all around. The only thing EU does better is Spain colonizing. I remember spanish colonization was more expeditive in the first then in the second.

Wanna explain that?

Morph: The Peace system is better in EU2 even without complete annexation when you occupy an entire country. But once you go that far your just one war away from total annexation anyway so it's no big deal.

pretty much it. far too deterministic. austria is the great offender, so you have the big white blob problem in central europe, not quite the same issue in EU.

i also can't do a WC on EU2. i think though that its just not my style. i always want to centralised and innovate, so my own slider preferences work against me.

I remember Spain never had any difficulty going right through the Incas and the Aztecs, colonizing all of it's historical American possession. I wouldn't go that far with EU2.

Yeah Austria can get through all the HRE and become Emperor in name and reality. And the annoying thing is that it does it Diplomatically and doesn't get involved in the BB wars.
