KING JOAS I 1755-1768
The first act of king joas was to give tolerance to catholics to end the rebelions in Issas. Later that year Issas was won back from catholic rebels.
1758 The nation once again slid into finacial ruin due to military spending and went bankrupt. Conquistador Sarsa joined the army and helped to beat back some token turkish attacks in keren and malindi but other than that the army remained hidden in issas to avoid the masses of soldiers building in Keren. We just let them die to attrition and our maximum size fortress there was impregnable.
1762 Turkey and russia rejected a white peace which led to unrest and loss in stability in 1763. Finally 1764 the war ended and Ethiopia was once again at peace. Joas built one warship in issas and named it after the great write warspite

it sat in port for all to gawk at.
After the great war of 1752-1764 against turkey and russia, which wasnt that big of a deal really. King joas wanted to give ethiopia peace and rebuild the economy. he wouldnt help build the economy though when he put the budget to focus on technology and not money so the the merchants had nothing to use to travel with.
1768 joas enters war with france against netherlands but it was a phony war that ended in just a few months. then joas struck gold and finally after years of trying, france exchanged maps with ethiopia and now they had knowledge of all the world. Wow what a messed up world at that. screenies to come.
Joas died in 1768 and a new king was crowned
KING TAKLA HAIMANOT II 1769-1776
This marked the beginning of a golden era for Ethiopia, not near as good as the trade era of 1690-1730 but it was an age of colonial expansion and ethiopia began to grow to its largest territorial size ever. After trade posts were established in Tanga, Mtawa, Zambezia, Ambovombe, Rufiji, and Kindi all in africa boosted the slave trade making Ethiopia the second largest slave trader behind france.
More trade posts and territorial claims came in Cambodia, Irrawady, and Khmer so Ethiopia had a large mass of land in asia also giving ivory, spices and chinaware. One more post in Baluchistan by persia brought wool but not all of these new territories did much for the dead economy as King Takla also refused to open up the treasury to merchants.
King Takla became so tired of his country fighting foolish foreign wars that he broke alliances with others and set Ethiopia on a solo road.
With many embargoes on ethiopia, the economy just sat dead at 6.0d/mo a far cry from the riches had 80 years ago. The inflation stayed at 23% as king takla refused to take gold from the budget. So Ethiopia was proud of its great new lands acquired but it really did nothing for the homelands in keren, issas and afars. The people became poorer due to neglect of the merchants.
1776 king Takla died, many were mourning but then king Salomon II brought hope for the growing nation once again.
