Also, Collector's Edition would be profitable, unlike normal phisical editions, because they really can charge whatever they want.

When EUIII came out, I remember seeing the box in Target for 49.99
At first I didn't know about the series until I saw it on sale for 29.99. The next day it was put with a red tape on. So I know Target discontinued selling the item. So I waited and waited until it's 3 dollars and bought it.

How about PI don't actually produce the CE edition until everyone that wants one pre-orders it so as to not waste money in over-manufacture.
Any one paying for the Collector's Edition gets an immediate code to download the digital copy on release day and then waits for the physical copy to be delivered when it's ready?!

I would be good with this. It would all depend on the cost of the C.E. and what was included. I don't mind paying a premium price for something I love but if the product isn't fit to the price then I would be very let down.

There is no point in it, yet i buy it when possible. You buy it just to have it, and when you are a fan of the EU series (like me) it is '' shut up and take my money''.
Even is EU4 is 100€ the game is still a no-brainer for me.
Because telling someone they're ripping you off isn't rude at all...
I consider 40 $ to be cheap, at least with today's exchange rate. That's about 270 SEK while most new games in this country are sold for 400 to 500.
It is comparatively cheap. Most new games in NA are sold for $50 or $60. I'm not sure why PDS makes their games cheaper, but I'm not complaining
Anything that can provide hundreds of hours of play and still make me want to play another game deserves every dollar. Even if I just keep playing EU3 and never start EU4.
Not to be rude here, but you've either never bought a new game or are completely out of touch.
$40 is cheap. I don't think anyone would really complain if this was a $50 title.
But then again, people bitched about Sunset Invasion (you didn't even have to buy it, people!).
You can't use an eraser phrase and expect people to be ok with whatever you're saying. Most games that are produced today that can compare with PI in terms of content and time played cost around 60$. That means at $40 I am getting a great deal! Not to mention I will play for a few hundred hours over time and it makes me wonder how they DON'T charge more!
