Estate Privilges - Expansionist Zealotry?

The new estate system is interesting and most of them appear to be "trade-offs," you give something up but also get something in return. Most of them seem to make sense, but there are some that baffle me.

Expansionist Zealotry in particular is the most confusing. It seems to be a straight debuff to yourself. Why wold anyone ever use this?

You get -5% morale and also a 10% loyalty decrease. While at war with heretics and heathens, the -5% morale is canceled out by a +5% for a total of 0%. No war for 15 years makes this even worse...
This seems like the stupidest privilege in the game.

The tooltip is confusing, as all estates tooltips (when they're not wrong). The modifiers shows what you would get right now (because you haven't been in war with heretics/heathens for 15 years). It's not a +5 on top of the -5 if you declare on an infidel, it's a +5 instead of a -5. Just poorly presented by the game.

It shows you what the modifiers are right as you take them. Since you haven't been at war with someone of a different faith it gives you the debuff. If you have been at war it shows +5% morale and +10% loyalty.

That's interesting. It doesn't say anything about a bonus to loyalty. Where did you get that?

In the modifiers tooltip that you linked. The negative and positive effects are mirrored.

No they're not, the right half does not modify loyalty.

It doesn't mention it on the righthand/tooltip description, but I can confirm that, as it is now applying -10% loyalty, it will instead apply +10% loyalty if you have been at war with heretics/heathens.

Pretty much a must-have-pick if you're playing some obscure faith (i.e. Ibadi).

Clergy Loyalty Equlibrium is the thing i meant and i was refering to the left side which is called modifiers.

I may be wrong but I think that that privilege also gives you +5% morale when Clergy has 60% loyalty.

That privilege shows how not knowing how the bonuses fully work is problematic. Ideally we should know what that privilege gives when clergy is disloyal, indifferent and loyal.

Loyalty doesn't affect that privellege: I was yo-yoing my estate's loyalty in my Hussite Bohemia game, and I always had +5% morale from that privelege, regardless of clergy loyalty.

Hey, do this Clergy privilege still working. I try to find it for a few countries ( Saxony, Hungary ..) and i don't find it in the list of privileges. On wiki paradox, i found the mention that any known country should have a different religion. So who is the country who can pick this privilege?

This privilege needs the emperor DLC. That is also mentioned in the wiki.

I don't understand this question. Are you asking if the privilege is linked to the emperor DLC? Yes, as I already said, you need the emperor DLC to have the privilege "Expansionist Zealotry". Or are you asking for a link where you can get the DLC? You can get it for example on the paradox store: https://www.paradoxplaza.com/europa-universalis-iv-emperor/EUEU04ESK0000001.html
Just make sure that you get the emperor expansion and not the emperor content pack.

Yes, I was asking if it matters if I have or not this DLC. Emperor. So, this is very strange that a major part of privileges are not related to new DLC Emperor and some of them are. I know the difference between DLC and expansion pack. Thanks that you spent the time to answer my question, you are kind.

It doesn't give the loyalty and morale bonuses even if you've recently been at war with heathens/heretics - you have to actively be at war for it to apply. The three effects it can have are as below:

At war with heretics/heathens = +5% morale (even against same-religion armies, so fake wars can be farmed) and +10% loyalty equilibrium
Less than 15 years since last war against heathens/heretics = No effect, except absolutism malus
15 or more years without fighting heathens/heretics = -5% morale and -10% loyalty equilibrium.

It's a pretty useful privilege for countries that border different-religion neighbours, unless already significantly stronger. Everybody but Confucians and those who has no knowledge of other religions (Ming, Korea, Incan minors and possibly some Africans in 1444) can take it.
