Agreed. The Eutopian Pensions Plan (EPP), financed through mandatory payments by employers/employees, plus a state-financed Supplementary Pensions Programme (SPP) for those whose income from the EPP is too low should suffice. Of course, people would be free to sign up for additional old age insurance with Omnicare.![]()

Mel,
Speaking for the rest of the ESRP; I support your priorities and the issues you mentioned. Let's move on as soon as we can on these before other parties usurp our agenda![]()

(3) Same sex rights: This will be a very controversial issue; nonetheless, I think we could keep the bill itself very simple, along the lines of "1. For purposes of Eutopian law, all references to the concept of marriage shall be replaced by references to registered domestic partnerships. 2. Any two adults may register a domestic partnership with the state; all such partnerships shall carry equal rights, benefits, duties and obligations." This leaves the door open for non-sexual partnerships as well.

Silent Eagle had asked me for a worked out version of the National Anitiquities bill, I've send it hem (occ: pm'ed hem) and gave him some names for co-supporters.
Only if you assume sex to be the basis of state recognition for marriages/ domestic partnerships (DmPs). To my mind, as far as the state is concerned, marriages and DmPs are simply contracts between two adults which have certain legal consequences regarding taxation, visitation rights, inheritance rights, adoption etc.Originally posted by KaiZer
Would "Any two adults" not cover Incest?
Maybe not your sense of morality, no. It seems you've fallen victim to the common conservative misconception that your own sense of morality is the only kind there is, though.Morality isn't even a roadblock to you guys anymore.

I would invite all members of parliament to comment on my proposal firmly based on Dr. De Vlaminck's bill on archaeological research. I have added a few small things of my own hand, and changed the wording here and there for clarity, but nothing drastic. Dr. De Vlaminck, I have asked the speaker Mr. Lundgren to extend an invitation to you to comment on your bill, if there is a need for your clarifications.

You've edited the bill very wellI can agree on your additions and it gives a base for later legislation that also should be implied but could be more controversial, like who's the proprietor of archaeological finds, the finder of the owner of the land or the state or if it isn't long ago the descendants of the former owner of the land from who the objects found originally were
The only point for discussion that I can found is the punishment for illicit excavating.
