ERE crown authority lower 2 level when ruler die?

I am playing as ERE and my last ruler is lucky enough to live so long he can change crown authority from limited to high in 1 generation. However, when he die, the next ruler found herself in limited crown authority again.

So what mechanic is at work here? and how can I prevent it?

I believe it has to do with the ruler either being "strong" baseilus or a "weak" one; don't quote me on that though.

The problem is I have to be emperor first to get either trait. So the crown authority will always reset

4. Does crown authority always go to mid from absolute upon succession or is it only for emperors with "weak Basileus" trait.

always IIRC, but goes back up if you get strong basileus trait during coronation.
