Yes!!! This was a huge factor for Rommel's success in North Africa. If I recall abou 40% of the armored vehicles were British during the height of his African campaign.

Most of the Finnish airforce was captured. That's one think that really confused me in HoI that such an important thing to do (capturing enemy equipment) was not implemented in the game. Also damaged ships in ports that get captured should almost always get captured (depending on how damamged) except subs. Germany used captured Polish, Czech and French armour during the war and gave her balkan allies captured tanks to. During the Great Patriotic War the Germans and Italians eagerly captured every T-34 they could get their hands on

Why execept subs ??? Germany used 6 ? captured subs ... including one British designed for refueling captured at high seas by 2 plane pilots.

micromanagment

Yup destroying enemy units and taken control over territory -capturing equipment - should be represent somehow, i would suggest as extra supply units. But no more cause otherwise we might reach absurd of micromanagement and game will be need to have new clock including minutes or even secundas!!!
