I'm interested to see what conclusions he will draw about Roxana and her daughter Mihrimah "richer than Queen Elizabeth I" Sultan. This period is tricky to study because Ottoman script is so different from modern Turkish.
Just my 5 cents, Suleiman was able to exploit initial weakness of Christian states. Then he executed his most trusted Vizir and capable heir, and then second heir. His reign was succesfull, his legacy was a disaster and Ottoman state started to decline.
I will not go that far to say that he executed his second heir more like third the second became Sultan and lets say he was an terrible one but he did enjoyed the fine things in life like drinking and orgies mostly at the same time. He did knew on what to squander the money oh and he also rebuild an fleet that he lost.
