Heyya.

I have several of this Citizenship Pops in my Empire (owner species), but many of them are enslaved.

Even if they arte totally new born, like this one here:

slavery.jpg

Is this a known bug?

I have a own made mod running, but it does not touch species right at all. SO this shouldn't be a problem.

Any ideas why I have this issue or how to fix it?

The pop is enslaved even if there are non-worker jobs available; even if I resettle the pop to another world with free specialist or ruler jobs, the pop stays enslaved (and gets unemployed if no worker job is available).

Hope you know more :)

arhm, yes, I have slaver guild civic. Makes this my worker-class citizen Pops to slaves? But why they not going for a specialist/ruler job is one is available?

aye, just read the tooltip again. lol. Have to test this... would be most useless civic if it does.

On one world, I have no worker jobs open, but some specialist. My new grown pops become unemployed slave instead of speicalist.... means you basically can't have worlds with less then 35% worker jobs or you just have to manage unemployed slaves... that sucks xD

EDIT:
yep, you are totally right. Slaver Guilds civic was the "problem".

Haha lol, really, I don't get that design; gameplay wise xD

I don't use these civics myself, but as I understand it they turn 35% of your population into slaves regardless of citizen rights.

Yes, Slaver Guilds always enslaves 35% of each species on a planet, including those with full citizenship. If you have the Utopia DLC, you can change the slavery type of your species to Indentured Servitude, then they can take most specialist jobs.

You have to manage slaver guilds quite carefully. If in doubt, use indentured servitude.

It can be very strong, but requires a bit of micromanagement.

Your running Slaver Guilds and you will need to run indentured Servitude to get your slaves to work specialist jobs

Slaver Guilds used to be a lot better now its only really giving your specialist slaves, slave CG upkeep costs

Yeah, totally agree, used like this, it seems great :)

Sadly i usually play slaver empire with synchretic evolution, one species for specialist & rulers, one as workers. In this specific case, slaver guild seems a total mispick xD

I wish they do away with slot-pops and slot-jobs... and just introduce planetary "population" and "jobs"... the percentages of which are influenced by all manner of things, buildings dirstricts, species, rights... you name it.

A more logical, consolidated system. Even growth would be solved, where a population can grow naturally.

These transformed tiles are source of so many woes.

Why it ever started with with sloted jobs in the first place is beyond me, given the engine used. How many other PDX titles on the same engine use sloted jobs?

Yeah right? How much better things would be with a pop and job system the likes of Imperator, as just one example. Or Victoria.

Individual entity pops is the source of all evil. It's also the old tiles, masked as something new, but not really. Only amplified into something much worse.

Seeing the disaster of the pop rework in 2.0, I wish they never thought of changing it again. The game hasn't totally recovered from it. Maybe for Stellaris 2.

Vicky has specific numbers of people.
Stellaris one pop might represent, a billion human sure but it might also represent....
A certain biomass of mold.
100 Billion ants.
A score of space dragons.
A single giant worm monster.

How it's currently handled is probably worse than tiles for a number of reasons, yes.

Slavers guilds is one of the stronger civics in the game. You gain +10 output from slaves (fortunately that no longer works for specialists) and pay a much reduced upkeep for these pops.
Even if you don't change the slavery type to indentured servitude you have almost no downsides.

As I told before.

I play normally with a secondary species to enslave. Secondary species: only good for worker jobs, main species only good for specialist/ruler jobs.

And with a empire like that, Slaver Guild is useless, since every single main race slave just blocks a worker tile which could be better used with a secondary species slaves.

I never told slaver guild is bad in general. But yeah, doesn't matter and wasn't my point at all.

Using that civic gets you +10% slave output. Thats on top of your syncretic evolution species. So no its not useless in fact it doubles down on your origin pick.

Also you can still set your main species to Indentured servitude so you gain the reduced upkeep for them.

If anyone wants a thread of theirs closed, don't do what Stahl-Opa did. It'll get you an infraction you could have avoided by just messaging a (demi-)mod with a friendly request.
Jesus Christ, wanna discuss this untill the world ends? It wasn't even part of my initial question/of this thread.

Maybe you can use it to min/max something something. How I use to play, it is nonsence since I dont want to have 35% of my main species enslaved. I maybe don't want -20% happiness on my main species specialists (which shouldn't have worker jobs due traits & RP), so I dont see any sense to have them become slaves (beside some minor upkeep cost reduction).

Since for myself it is no option to enslave 35% of all my species pops (including main species), this civic becomes useless for me.
This is how I play and what I think about this civic. It is just useless.

If you feel otherwise, I dont fucking care. I never asked how to min/max my slave empire or some other shit I'm not interested in.

I did not played Stellaris for a long time; I was just irritated to see my main species enslaved even with full rights. Last time I played Stellaris, Slaver Guild did not had this "35% are slaves" thing. I asked "why this enslasved?" and the ppl told me "because slaver guild (now) make 35% of your pops enslaved".
Fine for me. In this case, for myself, Slaver Guild is shit, and I myself think it's bad designed.

What you think about that civic is absolute not my problem, nor my question, nor of any interest for me.

So, if you are just here to get some cookies, alright.

YES, you are sooo great, thank you 1000x for your wise and awesome gameplay-wisdom! Thanks for enlighten me which civic I have to like & use! Thanks for helping with a issue I never asked help for!

edit: reported myself to close this charade, hope mod will do it soon. I will no longer answer here.
