Why not play as Texas, then?
I'm on the verge of uninstalling and demanding my money back. These revolts are absolutely, 100% ridiculous. Half of the US is occupied and I get more revolts every few days. That is, when I can actually play, of course. Don't forget that I have to make a decision on 3 or 4 events a week.
While the constant events are a bit annoying, they are about the same as they were in the demo. Then again, I'm only at 1840 right now. Maybe it gets worse later on.
I'm at 1843. I can't go more than a few days without something happening that either raises militancy or consciousness. I had Pennsylvania, New York, Ohio, Tennessee, Kentucky, Illinois, Michigan, Maryland, West Virginia, New Hampshire, Vermont, and Maine occupied by rebel forces with more popping up. You know, just like in real life.
I like the events.

I did. But it's absolutely impossible to win without cheating, despite the fact that Texas obviously won independence in real life.
Yeah, we captured Santa Anna. So what?Do you remember how the Battle of San Jacinto was won? We may as well have been cheating, it was perhaps the best of all possible outcomes of that engagement. Without that decisive victory, the revolution would have been at least far harder.
We may have won that one, but it was a damn near thing (the war, not the battle, one of the most lopsided victories in military history :rofl. I would not expect Texas to win all or even most of the time, especially since Vicky has no 'General entertaining a young lady' modifier.
Ohio weather may be cooler (not by much though), but Texas history is certainly more interesting.
I still have not yet met a single conservative that can figure out how to play this game, especially the economic part
Have you tried playing a country besides the US? That tons of events is a result of the Slave Debate which causes the civil war.
