Creative title, I know. I'm sure many have been posted before, but no harm in adding to the chorus.

Apparently my last attempt was eaten by the system apologies if double post appears.

*Events - provide full text and game effects for other countries' events. Don't make a player playing Brazil stop the game to look up the Swedish Summer Government or the Xian Incident.

*Intermediate fog of war. Perhaps DD addresses this? Something between full knowledge and 'only what your units see'. Intel being able to give an idea of troop concentrations and the like beyond the borders. Higher dissent making it more likely your enemies know more.

*Better AI. I understand DAIM and other mods may address this. It can be frustrating as a minor power Alliance member to be tied to a lackluster major power's success. Perhaps some way of influencing grand strategy short of taking full military control, and/or of asking for expeditionary forces. ("Hey Germany, can you spare an Afrika Korps?")

*More options in peace/annexing/liberating. While Vichy events are coded in, ability to replicate somewhat with other powers. For example, if Britain caves, ability for some of their units that can make the trip to defect to Canada, Australia, etc. (Make general purpose with Alliance members). Make what colonies go Free French/Vichy less predictable.

*Make some events more player-driven and less date-specific. Perhaps set up diplomatic 'research' where nation has to commit $ over time to lay the groundwork for things like the various German claims, and some give bonuses to others (like if already have Austria, Czech is easier, etc.).

Might have to wait for an eventual HOI 3, but:

*Option to change ANY country's government type when choosing the scenario, go ahead and hard code the ability in rather than having people have to rely on mods/go in and edit files directly.

Maybe limit to just the 1936 (or earlier, if earlier ones come standard in the future) scenarios. Choose campaign, go to option to Change Governments, click on flag, choose from available options. Repeat as desired. Go ahead and get your Leninist Germany, Fascist Britain, Paternal Autocrat Russia all at once.

Now that is an interesting idea. I'd like to see that! Even if I never use it, knowing its there always leaves the possibility open. (not to mention that it would be a good way to get Russia instead of the USSR, which I have wanted to do occasionally, but never did because I didn't want to have to do the work for it).

It's difficult with countries that change tag. They lose their research, although with my province-tied research suggestion this wouldn't be a problem.

Maybe variable country names for the same tag but different ideologies?

Eg. SOV could be Tsardom of All the Russias if it's fascist or Federal Rep. of Russia if it's democratic.

Another Eg. Romania could be the Kingdom if it's right wing democratic, the Republic if it's left wing democratic, the Soc Republic if it's commie, and the fascist "State" (a la Nat Spain and Vichy France) if it's (d'oh) fascist.

Minor quality of life improvement - message option for "country takes a VP province from another country". I'd like to keep up on major events in the world without having to either constantly pause and scroll the rest of the world or be drowned in messages about every single province changing hands. But a nice message about key provinces would be a good indicator to go take a closer look.

Maybe having your warscore influenced by how well/poorly your armies are doing?

Or having a slight dissent penalty/reduction based on how well your armies are doing.

For example if most of your army's on the retreat you'll receive a penalty.

Maybe more extreme penalties for countries with open societys?
