English localisation errors thread.

I'd like to create a thread dedicated to locating and offering fixes for text in the US English version of the HOI3 demo.

Rules:
1. Please constructive posts only! This is not a PI bashing thread. Johan and co. have delivered a wonderful game that they have dedicated a great number of hours and late nights to (as well as a few beers no doubt!).

2. Please be civil. This thread is for making suggestions only! This thread is not intended to discuss that validity of suggestions or arguing about other's posts. That is a good way to get a good thread closed.

Screen shots are a plus. Please point out any spelling/grammar errors and offer suggestions for corrections.

Edit: I had originally thought that the national unity tooltip explanation should have used the infinitive "to surrender", but I now see that it is indeed correct. Although clarity may or may not be necessary?

Typos in tutorial

I am brand new to this game...and am proceeding slowly with the demo tutorial.

Just wanted to mention that I am running into quite a few typos and grammatical errors.

As far as I can see, what should have been a period (.) is a comma after the date (so it says "12:00 18, january"). Small one, but somehow quite an eyesore...

I noticed several errors in countries.csv and I'm assuming it's the same one as in the full game:

The date is displayed correctly, as is standard.
The technology which displays too many "e" is "Electronic and Mechanical Engineering".

In the tutorial menu:

-"The basics, you will be guided through the basics concepts of Hearts of Iron 3 by an expert" should be "The basics. You will be guided through the basic concepts of Hearts of Iron 3 by an expert."

-"What to win friends and influence people, or just start wars? Our expert is on hand to help you." should be "Want to win friends and influence people? Or just start wars? Our expert is on hand to help you."

-"Sinews of war" is pretty awkward and should be changed. I sort of get what they're going for, production is like the muscle that powers the war effort, but I can't think of a good substitute.

Basic concepts tutorial, first screen:

-"arranged some guidance" should be "arranged for some guidance"

-"You are taken outside to meet a small man with a rather odd looking moustache, he is painting what can only be described as a particularly bad painting." Should be two separate sentences.

-"half hour" should be "half-hour" because it's used as an adjective

-"However he then begins to settle down and begins to explain what is going on." is too repetitive. I'd go with "However he then begins to settle down and explain what is going on."

-"We must first master these if our will is triumph." should be "We must first master these if our will is to triumph."

-"I will take you through each in turn as soon as you are ready to continue hit the okay key. " should be something like "I will take you through each in turn. As soon as you are ready to continue hit the OK button."

-"If you feel you are foolish enough to ignore my genius then press then return to the main menue". As far as I can tell, there isn't a way to go back to the main menu without completing the tutorial. It doesn't let you click the menu button in the top right which I think is what it was referring to. So maybe just remove this part.

I'm being picky, but still... This could take a while. Will try to do more later.

Spelling corrections are useful, but only when they're are actually correct. The other ones are fine, but these two should read "Scandinavian" ("i" not "a") and "Flemish" (one "m").

Gebirger Diviion??

I found this miss spelling playing Polen, its not a biggy but starting as Germany I couldnt reproduce it any where, And I started a new as Polen and couldnt reproduce it either.
Strange
But I found out that when I looked for any mountain units in Ge stats. When I found one I couldnt just double click to go to the unit I was force to find it manually.
Munor note, I missed the click sound to confirm that I sorted on names, types etc.

There are spelling errors in some division names, yes. If we a community can report which divisions these are, it'll hopefully be fixed in a patch.

I've just noticed when hovering the mouse over the political parties of Brazil, there's a mistake with the concordance of a political party, the Brazilian National Socialist Party.

The party "Partido Nacional Socialista Brasileira" should read "Partido Nacional Socialista Brasileiro" (o instead of a at the end of the last word, since "Partido" is masculine grammatical gender)

EDIT: Actually, on a side note, the leading "Party" of Brazil shouldn't really be the ARENA (which was created in 1964!). From 1937 onwards the political parties were officially abolished in Brazil, but if you will consider the situation in 1936, the main 'right-wing' party should be the "Ação Integralista Brasileira" (which is already sort of represented ingame). Not where I should put this, so I wrote it here instead, hoping someone would notice it.
