Hey guys,

Is there any way to get the dynasty names back to the way they were in vanilla? The Abbassids are called Abbassiyun now for example. After all the hours I spent with vanilla Crusader Kings I got used to the regular english spelling. I installed HIP with all the modules.

This is something that Arkopack Armories does.

The only way to not have that happen is to not install Arkopack Armories (although, yes, that means you also do not get the cool CoA's).

Yes, I know. I don't care for the change in dynasty names, either.

Is there any way to get the dynasty names back to the way they were in vanilla?
Note: You can prevent the dynasty names from showing up in the political map at all (e.g., you'll see "Arabian Empire" instead of "Abbasiyyun") by removing each instance of the line dynasty_title_names = yes from the file common/cultures/00_cultures.txt.

SED affects titles, not dynasty names. There is currently no option which changes the dynasty names to vanilla version, other than to not install Arkopack Armories.

(Although I have a personal file I use which does this -- I suppose I could make that available, if there's a demand for it.)

Could be. When we were exploring this, I tried it (using a separate file to just use the dynasty id & the name) and it didn't change the CoA, so likely it's something they changed/fixed when they did the last update for folderization.

It is in fact possibly something old that didn't work correctly since i remember having tested various things in this regard ;)
So it opens the way for S.E.D to add Englicised names dynasties.

I think it would be simpler to just stop the dynasty names from appearing on the political map. For now, you could have two choices--"Abbasiyyun" (default) and "Arabian Empire" (SED)--and then decide whether you want to expend the effort for a third choice of "Abbasid" (SED sub-option, like Mini-SWMH under SWMH) later.
