Hallo to everyone im new here.

My first Question is:

Is it Posible to get the Englisch melting pot event, if my prime titel is Emperor of Britania and King of Englang is ust secondary?

My other queston is. If i, as an north King of England, becom duke of Leon or Kernev. Will my culter be Norman and later, after 1100, English, even in an Empire?

I would be happy for every answer :)

To get the English melting pot event you just need and Anglo-Saxon cultured county ruled by either an English ruler or and Norman. If you are starting form the early start dates (before 1066) there will be no Norman culture the only way it can appear is if a Norse ruler rules a Breton, French, Frankish, Dutch or Frisian county and is independent.

As for your first question:

Unless things have changed since this was posted, you cannot have an empire-tier title for it to work. However, it is moddable - and, in fact, there may already be a mod for it.
Some of the events in the chain have that requirement, but it is not true that cultures will never flip if an empire is involved (this might have been a change introduced since that post was made, but more likely I think it was an oversight of the poster). English culture arises in Anglo-Saxon counties in England held by Normans. There's also a special event for English culture to spread from existing such counties to others. Neither of these care what the top tier title is. The events that do care are concerned with converting courtiers and the like and in fact will only trigger if you are already English! I don't see anything in here that prevents you from becoming English as an Emperor.

I know the culture conversion scripts pretty well, and I can't remember seeing anything relating to empires. And I would know because I write sucha cop out for norse if the top liege holds e_scandnavia (god I hate that name, but like with so many other titles I guess I can't come up with a better one).

I might get some flak for these two cents, but here they are:

I suggest you stay Anglo-Saxon indefinitely for the following reasons;

- Better Retinues (English longbows just arent what they used to be, Housecarls are some of the best units in the game)
- Cooler names
- Cooler Unit sprites (if you have the dlc, which you should because its awesome and $0.50 if you get it at the right time)

Yes, I read, that the Longbows get nerved. I think i become either Ango-Sex or stay North, to becom Berserker Charge combat tactic

Well if you're already Norse i would definitely stay that way. Norse culture can raid, no matter what religion they are! Unlimited amounts of money with little effort, and the same badass Housecarls as anglo-saxons.

You can find lots of specific info about retinues here on the forums and on wiki and reddit...

As for my opinion; Knights are just ok. They, like housecarls, shine in melee phase, which i think is the 2nd phase of a battle (skirmish phase being 1st i believe). Knights can do very well with good commanders if there are no other units mixed in (variance in units prevents the optimal tactics from being used in battle). The one major drawback for Knights though is the 1200 retinute point cost per unit of 250 (100 Light, 150 HeavyCav)... That's a massive price. Only already huge realms (like 250+ holdings) can have a large enough retinue cap to have a substantial amount of Knights.. but then once battle hits their reinforcement costs are quite expensive.

Housecarls are one of the best retinues available. You get 200 Heavy Infantry with an offensive bonus for 600 retinue points. The units are pure heavy infantry, and with Norse commanders you're nearly guaranteed to have great tactics fire. They arent great in skirmish phase for damage, but they dont take many losses either. Once melee phase occurs housecarls just wreck.

Stay Norse. (if you want to always be able to raid, if you dont care about raiding i suggest anglo-saxon because of the reasons stated in my first post)

Or just do whatever you want, because that's how to have fun!

If you have the opportunity, Scottish is also well worth considering - Scottish Schiltrom (pikemen) retinues are contenders for the best in the game, and you have access to the Tanistry succession law (like elective but restricted to your dynasty and rather harder to control), which I've always liked. Though once you're an Emperor, you have to deal with the godawful Celtic imperial crown, which makes the conventional western malteser box look like the epitome of taste.

I am currently playing a 'make William jealous' game and I am Grand Prince of Britannia, Brittany and France. I started as Norse ruler in 867 and settled in Brittany as a Norman MR. I wanna switch to English for RP. It's already past 1100 but there is no culture shift going on. Do I miss something?

Why would the English melting pot event not just work on regions instead of kingdoms? It's why we've got them in the first place.
Pretty sure they do. Atleast all CM culture flips are region rather than dejure driven.

Is the Celtic crown the pyramid looking thing?
