Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Burgundy own Calais in 1419? The screens show it as English.

I believe that the whole beginning of the real 100 years war (post-Agincourt) was centered around the English capture/defense of the lands around Calais.

England captured Calais from the French in 1347, during the earliest phase of the Hundred Years War, and long before the beginning of EU2 in 1419. However, Calais province is very much oversized, and most of the land in the EU province did belong to Burgundy.
Calais sure is oversized... The strip of land that England owned was REALLY small. Other lands were part of Vlaanderen (Flandres)
It would be cool if coastal provinces could be parted, one land could own the port/city and another the inland. It was quite usual this. Sweden for instance hade several Polish ports during the thirty years war but not much of the inland. I also agree that province of Calais is oversized.

The sharing is not a good idea imho, would get too chaotic. Game has to remain playable...
Calais may be oversized, but it's about as small a province as you can get in EU2 (outside of islands) and still be usable for the game, in that an army doesn't obscure it entirely.
There's certainly no need to share European Provinces, despite our desires for one hundred percent accuracy.

Hmmm, you letting out something from your experience with the Beta version BiB? I don't remember seeing Calais on any of the screenshots yet.
An extra zoom level would work *cough*Italy&Germany*cough*..... but so would say splitting Calais province into two.
Ragusa was quite small in EU1, that was an excellent example of a port city with a realistic strip of land.

Funny, I thought you lived in the downtown...... ah well, at least we're away from the traffic congestion/hordes of people of the downtown, here, its merly uniform rows of housing, slowly destroying the Earth's environment.
