Hi

I'm playing "The Age of Exploration" campaign, with England. I would like to know how and when England can become United Kingdom. I'm in 1600, and Scotland is my vassal.

Thank you very much, and sorry for my poor english!

England can become the UK from 1700- on it must own the two most southern Scottish provinces (forgot their names) or must have Scotland as a vassal.

The historical date was 1707 but it can happen at any time after 1700 in the game. Note that it doesn't change the name, unlike with Castile or Aragon becoming Spain: you are still "England" but the flag turns into a (pre-1801) Union Flag.

Yes... only the flag changes, and other effects from the event. Same happens for France in the Revolution. You don't change country tags. (This is only in the cases of England and France, BTW.)

Yeah... I was trying to make the point that it does not behave the same as the Muscovy/Russia, Castile/Spain, Timurid/Mughal or other country transformations. In the cases of England and France, your flag and shield graphics change, but not your country name, tag, or leader/events lists. This was a special thing that was written into the game code only for those two countries.

Russia can be formed by all other russian minors, and is something different from Muscovy.
Both Castile and Aragon may form Spain, and Spain is basically the merging of both countries, so it's more than one.
Timurid/Mughal were a complete reform of the state.

OTOH, Kingdom of France -> French Republic was only a change of government (and originally, they didn't even planned to become a republic, just a parliamentary monarchy), nothing really more than the Netherlands changing of form of government.
United Kingdom is basically England with more valid claims on Scotland, but AFAIK it's more England having absorbed Scotland than a true merging with both changing.
So, France & England transformations are a bit 'less' than other country transformations.
