I haven't played EU IV for years, but I came back and had a nice run as England and the UK from 1444 to 1603. Some feedback and thoughts on my experiences and the new DLC.
Observations:
Anglicanism is boring / weak compared to Protestant. Please make it more versatile / interactive. I'd like to use it.
We need a "can call diet" and "can seize land" notification for estates.
Need "can use <church action>" alerts
Colonial expansion via conquest of new world natives breaks the colonial experience.
Colonizing Australia is a pain because of how often the tribes migrate and kick out your settlers.
Questions:
Will we always be limited to 6 estate privileges? Can we have more? I shudder art trying to play the game when limited to 4.
Will an Anglican DoF be for all non catholic christian nations nations, or just Anglican ones? With the changes made by Emperor that seems silly.
DLC:
Dislike the summon gold mine / choose trade good change. Honestly, it kind of useless since so many (non Caribbean) provinces in the new world have their trade goods chosen before the Europeans arrive. I would prefer an "anything but Grain, Fish, or Livestock" option, with a few areas (Newfoundland / Grand Banks Fisheries) exempt, and have it apply to my CNs as well.
Suggestions:
Make Enclosure an English Mission or Decision that turns some English Grain / Livestock / Fish provinces into Wool provinces, increasing base tax and production, but reducing manpower (Dip 6 / Farm Estates). Have a later Decision / Act of Parliament / Mission to upgrade them to Cloth Provinces at Dip 11 (New Draperies/ Textile Manufactory).
Add Seville -> Bordeaux -> Channel so Gascony, Brittany, and Gibralter are actually useful to England from a trade perspective, and the Spanish Low Countries to Spain.
Add Rhine -> Channel Trade Link
Add Alexandria -> Tunis so the British mission into the Med actually make sense from a trade perspective, and so the Muslims in North Africa can trade with each other.
Valencia trade node should feed both Genoa and Sevilla, so Spain has a good trade reason for annexing Aragon.
When I convert to Protestant, my CoR ends up in Scotland or Ireland and is useless for converting across the channel. Please have it spawn in either primary culture provinces, or chosen to maximize the provinces / development within 150 range. It used to spawn reliably in Oxford, I don't know what changed.
