Hi all....just wondering about Engineer brigades...I believe they give a 20% movement/attack bonus across rivers to the division they are attached to...does the movement and/or attack bonus apply to other divisions within a corps/army containing an engineer brigade...also, how does this compare to the Engineer leader trait? Does it give the same movement/attack bonus as the brigade? Thanks.

It applies only to the parent Division, and is the same as (and cumulative with) the Engineer Leader Trait.

Any brigade only affects the individual division in a formation.

The Engineer trait for a leader, however, affects all the divisions in a formation.

Each would decrease river crossing penalties by 20. Both would mean a 40 reduction.

Note that either one would mean that mountain div has zero river crossing penalty.

For marines, each model lowers the river crossing penalty by 5% until there is no river crossing penalty, so there is little benefit to using eng bde for marines for river crossings. Attach them to other divisions for river crossing ops.

Could you please specify, where this information can be found in the game files? But they hopefully do keep their speed bonus, when an engineer brigade is attached, don't they?

Yes, they do keep the speed bonus.

And you should be able to see it in the tech screen, under marine ;) .

Thank you for the quick response.

But as I understand it, they only get an attack-bonus, their movement-penalty when crossing rivers stays the same. That makes eng-brigs a bit less useless, I think.
