Enfeeblement -
On weapon hit:
Foe target vs Parry
Weakened for [duration]

Now...I sneak attack a couple of Scourges using a Magic Staff (vs Dodge) and Channel Strength (vs Magic). Both hits land (satisfying "On weapon hit"). Both hits do damage. Both attacks fail to apply Enfeeblement.

The combat log shows that Subterfuge was used to calculate the attack (advertised nowhere). Fine. However, it also shows that Enfeeblement was defended against using Dodge. Why is this? It's advertised as a vs Parry attack. It was attempted using a vs Magic attack. The weapon is vs Dodge, but why is the attack listed as vs Parry if it's actually dependent upon the weapon used?

Clarification please?

EDIT: FYI, a few moments later, I attempt the same thing against some Wisps. Vs Parry:

Hello @HyphenC,

That is strange. It should be using Parry as the defense when attempting to apply the affliction. We have been attempting to reproduce this internally, but we only ever see parry being used. As the scourge are unarmed combatants, they should be using Dodge in Place of parry against most attacks. I've passed this on to the design team for further investigation as to what is happening.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention,
David

Hi @Obsidian_David,

since you mentioned this, I'd like to put another potential issue on your radar (apologies for not opening a new thread for it; if you need me to for clarity, I will.)

The Fatebinder's Agility talent tree has a talent called Arrow Shield that lets the Fatebinder use Parry instead of Dodge if the former is higher. However, if the Fatebinder is disarmed in combat, attacks still go through against Dodge as though the talent had not been taken.

This may or may not be intended, but I guess it would be worth checking with the design team. The whole point of the Arrow Shield talent is to maximize your XP gains in Parry; if you suddenly start gaining XP in Dodge because you've been disarmed, it's a bummer (and people who like to optimize have to restart the fight.)

Hello @AndreaColombo,

The Arrow Shield talent is only intended to convert Ranged attacks from Dodge to Parry. It does not affect Melee attacks at all. So if you are disarmed, and attacked at melee range, it is expected that you would use Dodge in place of Parry. Were you seeing your Dodge used for Ranged attacks while disarmed? We tried to reproduce that, but have not been able to do so yet.

Thank you,
David

Hi @Obsidian_David ,

Thanks for clarifying. In light of this, the ability is working as intended.
