Money will probably be used the same way that it was used in EUII, to build units, improvements etc. Energy is to represent the fact that just because a city has factories does not mean that it has the elctric power to run it, Transports, I assume, represent the fact that just because a country has resources does not mean that has that they are made in location A and magically appear at location B, but that they must be transported there.

I think that the electricity and Transports icons and stats will mainly deal with how effiecent IC and resource production is, money will most likely be used to trade on the World Market as well as making units and expanding parts of cities/provinces.

yes ... i also believe that the Transports have something to do with your army Supply ... a big and spread army needs more Transports to be supplied ... The electricity is a good way to limit the amount of industry u can use ... for example u can build lots of industrys but without adequate electricity it will be useless, they might have changed the way building factories work ... just ideias

I think the power symbol is equivalent to the HOI coal symbol. I don't think it will have too much more of a role than it did in HOI. Its just a more generic symbol in order to represent other equivalent items (hydroelectric dams, nuclear plants, etc).

I think they did the same for rubber (the new symbol looks different).

Just my opinion.

I thought that the trading system in HOI had some problems. I didn't like the idea of exchanging resource for resource (coal for oil). I didn't think it was flexible enough. I think the primary reason behind the money is to provide that flexibility in trading (i.e. I can sell off the coal for money. But I don't have to decide stock up another resource right away.)

Will money be used for research or making units? Maybe. But I doubt it. The industries (IC points) already require a lot of resources, adding money would just complicate things with little value in my opinion. I think its only going to be used for resource trading.
