It would be pretty interesting to have a random event where you damage an enemy so badly they want to eject.
When they do, there should be an opportunity to recruit them, or let them leave the field; rather than kill them.
I've encountered some pretty decent pilots that made me sad to turn them into pink mist.

I generally like the idea, and this would probably be a 'named' or boss pilot in a custom mech, like we see in some of the Flashpoint missions. This could include a short narrative based on what becomes of the pilot.


To touch further on this; you will note that when a mech is taken out of action the information is...pretty vague, on what happens to the pilot, but we see 'incapacitated', not killed...we only see KIA in skirmish mode.

If we kill a downed mech on a called shot, it could be assumed an incapped pilot pops the hatch and climbs out eventually, but I think it would have been very good to have added an ejection animation to an upright mech taken out of the fight.

Except for headshots. I see "Pilot Lethal Damage" fairly often when my headhunters have decided to be good at their jobs.
