Playing as both France and Castille in the first 30 years, I have had enemy armies win sieges far faster than normal. I lost Toledo in 13 once. What is going on, and how can I prevent it?
You (and the AI) can assault fortresses to end sieges quickly (at a loss of soldiers and morale).
The AI doesn't seem to assault if you've got a stack of units in a province next to them though, so you might want to use that to prevent assaults!
