End of days event broken?

So i'm trying to get the "Not So Bad" Achievement and i've run into a problem.
I need to get the "end of days" event, which appears when you have the black death in your demesne, and are a capable adult independent ruler. I've restarted the game over 50 times now, which makes for a total of 100 years of black death, yet i've never gotten the event and i've seen people in other threads say they got it with around 12 tries.
I really need to know if this event is broken and/or what i'm doing wrong. I start in 1337 with an appropriate ruler, wait for the black death to reach my realm and wait in seclusion for 4 years, rince and repeat. Does seclusion count as being incapable? Please help

First, make sure you have supernatural and absurd events enabled. It also helps to use the "Delayed Dynamic" epidemic game rule, and to start in 1075, so that the Death should hit quickly in 1100. To speed things up, I started a game in the Bengal area, so my realm would be among the first to get hit with the disease.

But even with all that, there is a tremendous amount of RNG involved in getting the "End of Days" event chain to fire. I got so frustrated that I made a copy of my save right before the Death hit my realm, and kept re-playing from that point until I got one of the desired event chains. It took about ~8 tries as I recall, but once it fired, it was over real quick.

Thanks, although I had already read through your thread in my frantic search (I had nothing better to do while waiting through those 100 years), rereading it made me think it might have something to do with the historical plague setting? I'll try going with the dynamic plague and see if it works

I don't think the plague settings should matter, as that only decides how long you have to wait for the Black Death to first spawn. However, setting it to Delayed Dynamic and then starting in 1075 means you only have to wait 25 years until the Plague is eligible to spawn.

Try and make a local copy of your Ironman save when the Plague is only a few counties away from your realm, and then keep replaying from that point. The event should fire eventually. Also make sure that you have Supernatural and Absurd events on, and stay independent the entire time.
