Say you can develop hitech/science so high that you are ready to lift off. Make it hard to obtain idk. But if you have a space program have them lift of to the moon

Just an extra map of say the moon with some sci fi inspired building theme actions. just to add a little more game play.

As a possible end game scenario they could have a set of hard to get achievements that represent achieving the pinnacle of success. Things like

Win the Olympic bid (Requires high pop / happy pop / lots of extra money to build venues, not for payoff *wink* *wink*)
Host G8 meeting (Super High level of Commercial)
Win a Novel Prize (Super high levels of CIM education)
New Flying car factory (Super High level of industry)
V is for (High population with very low crime)

I'm sure there are other possibilities, but these are just late game achievements not an end.

i mean i dont think id buy a game specifically as a sci fi city builder, but having that added dimension is just going that extra mile imo.

Sure - all the more reason for developers not to waste time (and thus money) on it, and rather leave it to the modding community to donate their time to the superficial graphics conversion :)

I'm much more concerned about how robust the core game is, and as well as the modding tools, than adding a few giant and superficial Easter eggs.

what has winning a novel prize have to do with city pride? Do cities pride themselves by novel prizes that their inhabitants have? I've never heard of that.

I dunno. I don't always strive for the best. I often create and recreate run-down ghettos or poor towns and run them down with tornados and that. I love doing that, and it would be pretty stupid, if a game popped up with a "YOU LOSE" endgame screen just because things aren't going well (except if you get bankrupt).

For sandbox games, it isn't always optimal, to have winning/losing conditions, city building games aren't made for you to win, they require more expressions from players, like music. Beethoven didn't say "I WIN" when he wrote 9th symphony, music is art and videogames are art aswell. :)

technically, the exodus wasnt an end game, you could still play on the map after the fact if i remember correctly. nor did you even have to lift off for outer space. Also, leaving to play on another map wouldnt be a true end game technically. maybe i should have worded that differently. anywho
