Is there any way to encourage your allies to seek a separate peace? I have a vassal who has taken land from our enemy that he has a core on, but it'll cost me 4 infamy to give it to him if I do it. I like my vassal, but I don't want the infamy gain.
Your vassal cannot negotiate peace in a war that you are also involved in. If you are not the war leader, peace out and your vassal will continue the good fight and be able to negotiate their own peace, but I'm guessing that you are the war leader in this scenario.
IIRC current vassal mechanics correctly, provinces that your vassals own give tax, manpower, and forcelimits at half the rate of you owning the province directly. So I wouldn't necessarily reject taking infamy for a province for a vassal out of hand. But it would take lower priority over spending infamy for provinces for myself. You also have to take into account that you could vassalize a whole other country for 4 infamy as well.
Thanks everyone. France managed to take a province off of Austria, but everyone else in the war was either a vassal or in a personal union with me, so I had to handle everything myself.
Fortunately, I was able to peace out in such a way that Austria shouldn't be able to get to the Norwegian Patriot rebels.
