Just to make sure I'm not crazy:
  1. Prior to 1.3, the store button on uninhabited planets was greyed out, since there wasn't a store.
  2. As of 1.3, the store on these planets can be opened and is just empty (but can be sold to?)
I understand why those stores are empty, but I'm wondering if this is a bit of a bug or if people have been confused by it. It makes sense that you would want to still have access to the store UI, since there could be a black market dealer on an uninhabited planet potentially. I just don't recall seeing any UI elements that indicate why the store is empty, so it seem like an easy place for someone to think there was an issue loading it, etc.

Thoughts?

I just assumed the ability to sell on empty worlds was a safeguard change to prevent bankruptcy from happening when you are sitting on millions of C-Bills in chassis and no way to leverage them until now. I think of it as if you call up your bank and say "hey, I got this SDR-5V and three LCT-1Ms I can pay you with once we leave this rock" as just selling it in store is the same thing with less steps.

Take The Steel Beast out of storage. You'll lose it because apparently someone at HBS forgot to give it a mech_def file or something, but at least you'll be able to sell things other than 'mechs again.

Oh, wait, you're talking about a different issue. Yeah, that does seem odd.

@yrrot, correct. An 'empty' store is on a planet that normally wouldn't have a store. Since you can take contracts there, it's assumed that someone is there so we've been given the option to sell, but nothing to buy.
