Dom Tomas simply stared at the man.

I don't care about what you do, I asked who you are.
I... am... Death... *Flies away*

I am Johannes van Tiel, out to kill the Polish? who killed my nephew.

Nah I am Johannes van Tiel, out to kill the Polish? who killed my nephew.

Tomas' left eye twitches slightly.

You are dismissed.

The man is escorted from the room by Etxeto men-at-arms.

On the way to Valencia, Johannes discovered that he was death. This means that he will discover 2 more things: Who killed his nephew and how these people from Sicily are called.

When he arrived in Valencia, he took the fleet of his brother and sailed to Sicily to kill some damned Egyptians. When he arrived there, the Mongolians greeted him, but he found it very suspicious...

Name: Johannes van Tiel
Date of Birth: Februari 11th 1434
Class: none, It's a side-story, and he wont get involved in Politics.
Religion: Catholic
Bio: Nephew of Michiel and Twan van Tiel.

((I suppose a classless character is fine, although you won't be able to participate in any votes since I can't assign voting power. Not quite sure what you intend with this character though.))

I already flew away, because I am a rich trader with a private jet!

((Almost missed this. I'd prefer if you try to keep somewhat historical, even if it is incoherent babbling. No one would know what a private jet is in the 15th century.))

Moving around in circles, Luigi cursed. 'What do you mean, you lost him?'

'We reached Venice, my lord. There, I was recognized by an old sailor - and had to flee, so that I could at least report that Renato de Abruzzi has gone there. I heard he would head further North.' The man looked battered due to the failure. 'I am sorry, my lord.'

'I guess it is not your fault if the Venetians haven't forgotten our raids... You may leave.' Fleeing the Mediterranean was a smart move of de Abruzzi. But the reach of the king and of himself was long, and they would find him sooner or later.

This setback reminded him of the men who searched Andrea and Ferran. They had found out that the Bastard was hiding in Naples. Great surprise. Everybody knew that. Until they narrowed down the possible locations of the pretender some more, this information was useless. He cursed again.

Then one of the city's guards entered the hall. 'What now? More bad news?' The Count snapped.
The guard was startled at first, but then answered with as much calm as he could. 'I fear so, my count. Some Dutchman has made irruption in the harbour, and has attacked an Egyptian merchant.'
Castelozzi sighed. 'Did he shout 'Die, Heathen!' by any chance?'
'No, he did not. He also did not come alone, but with some merchant fleet.'
The Count's eyes lit up. A Dutch trading fleet had attacked d'Ambrosio's lands in Cagliari before... 'Ready my carriage. We will arrest him.'

As he reached the harbour, his suspicions were confirmed. The fleet waved the same banner as the outlaw's of Cagliari. This time, they wouldn't be able to pillage the city, nor would they get away. Some sailors and mercenaries wouldn't be able to withstand Palermo's disciplined troops, many of them following him since his days as condottiere. The men sent to put the crews under arrest, he went to the place of the attack, and saw a man struggling to free himself from the grasp of one of the harbour's guards. 'By order of his Lordship Luigi Castelozzi, the Count of Palermo, you are hereby put under arrest for assassination attempt of a merchant', one of his guards shouted.
The man grinned madly. 'Castelozzi? He is but one of my minions. I am death. Now, let me go, you vile Mongolians! Or I will fly away!'
Luigi was not amused. Not only did the man have the audacity to show up in one of Aragon's most important harbours with the same ships which had attacked Cagliari, attacked a merchant under his protection, no, he also dared to insult him. 'Carry him away before I forget myself. The king shall decide what to do with him.' A day to forget.

Your Majesty,

Today I have had the misfortune to see the kin of the pirate who attacked Cagliari, a man named Johannes van Tiel, together with the same pirate fleet responsible for the attack. He was attacking a foreign merchant, while trade is of such importance to the well-being of the crown. As protector of the harbour, I had to arrest him and keep his fleet. Due to the nature of the fleet, I think Your Majesty has to decide of the fate of this madman. He thinks he can fly and that he is death. He also called me and my men Mongolians. Truly, his madness, coupled with this fleet, is nothing less than a danger for the whole Western Mediterranean, which is mostly in the hands of Aragon and its allies. I defer to Your Highness the judgement of this scoundrel, and will keep him in my prison until it has been made.

Your loyal subject,
General Luigi Castelozzi, Count of Palermo

Jonannes was surprised. The count of Palermo came to arrest him, but he did not know that he had made deals with the Venetians before. 3/4 of his fleet was in Venice, and he knew that they were loyal to his father. They would break them out. But still, they interrupted his vacation to Egypt. He asked a Egyptian merchant how the weather was at sea, but the merchant screamed at him. Then he got arrested. He will never understand these Romanians, or however these people in Sicily are called.
He will escape. A Spanish-Turkish-Venetian fleet is coming to save him and his fleet. That day... that day he will become a pirate, and destroy Aragonese ships all over the mediterranean...

My fellow count d'Ambrosio,

I was distraugt by the brazen attack on your capital city. Why someone would attack a city like this, without reason, is beyond me.
As a fellow count of Sardinia, and friend, I have sent duckats, supplies and soldiers to help rebuild the destroyed and damaged buildings, aswell as helping those who have lost their possessions in the attack.

Your friend and fellow count,

Felipé de Alvaro, count of Sassari

Esteemed members of the Consulate of the Sea of Barcelona,

As I heard of the recent raid on Cagliari, I am willing to bring to the city garrison and the population the supplies, coming from Italy of course, they may need to recover at a fair price. The "Irene" has a well trained crew and we are not scared of potential pirate raids on us. We are sure we can agree later at the end of the civil war over future trade contracts and deals between us.

Waiting for a your, eventually positive, reply,

Respectfully yours Francesco Guinigi, merchant of the Repubblica di Lucca.

Your Majesty Alfons VI,

as I prepare to travel to Epirus I must request a report on what troops and naval forces I Will have at my disposal have to support my control over Epirus and to defend it as well as revolt risk .that report will help me govern the people to the best of my ability.

Alexandro de la Costa

((So my character and his fleet are pirates and raiders now. Prepare for some attacks...))

It was night in Palermo. It would have been a normal night, had the count not captured Johannes van Tiel. A fleet, numbering 200 ships, went into the harbor. They attacked the prison there and took everyone inside back to their ships. It did not end there. They shot a flaming arrow at the palace of the count. They went back to Venice to get supplies and new cannons, to sail to Valencia and destroy the Aragonese fleet. They stopped in Tunis, to get some Berber mercenaries. Around this time count Luigi castelozzi heard that they has escaped and that they were in Tunis at the moment.

I must petition that the people in charge of the defense of Palermo be punished for not defeating the pirate invasion.

I will personally punish them all. They have let me escape, so I will only burn them with their puny city. They will not get executed like the count.

Alexandro de la Costa was going over the last minute preparations before he travel to Epirus when he heard a noise and suddenly he realize there was someone in his room ,before he could call for the guards the person fled leaving a letter warning him to stop his appeals against the pirates as well as the petition for punishment for the leaders of the defense of Palermo.once he read the letter he called the guards and had then search the house and the surrounding area but no one was found.also immediately decided to order a reward for information on the identity and location of the intruder as well as doubling the guards and getting on his horse with his escort toward the ship that would take him to Epirus planing on ensuring that the pirates and the leaders of Palermo were punished because he believe they were responsible for the letter.
