We cannot allow us to be flagged as traitors like the Portuguese. If one enters an alliance, it is not only to expect assistance in one's own affairs, but a mutual agreement. Honour demands that we heed this call to arms. Together with Venice, our fleets should be able to take out the Turk's and Tunis', even if they combine. I trust in de Abruzzi's and the Ventian admiralty's abilities to pull that off. If we blockade the Bosporus, the enemy won't be able to bring in reinforcements from the East, and Greece can be returned into Christian hands. Aragon might be able to pursue its Tunisian claims in this war, as they certainly still struggle after their occupation by Touggourt. But as the others, I propose to send mercenaries to fight in this war. Accompanied by some cavalry regiments, they should be able to live from the loot they capture in Infidel territory without damaging the treasury too much.
As for our goal, it should be to raise our prestige in the eyes of all civilized people. With all the advantages coupled to this, it also brings more internal stability, which eliminates many concerns and should further advance the recovery of Your kingdoms.
Your humble servant,
Felice Castelozzi, Count of Palermo and Steward of Aragon
