"Ferdinant just arrived in the rich port city of Sevilla. Here, he knew his plans could become reality. This would be the perfect spot to found the Atlantic Company. He could only take minimal belongings, he took 5 days worth of food, enough money to buy a small, but cozy house in the richer part of Sevilla, and some weapons to defend his life. He quickly found a job in the harbor, where he would repair ships docking in Sevilla. He had one problem, he didn't have the money to found the actual company! He would need a loan, and he knew that Antonio di Arezzo worked for the bank of Tuscany. He would send a letter asking for a loan."

To Antonio di Arezzo, (@delpiero1234 )

I would like to found the 'Atlantic Company' in the city of Sevilla, which is under your rightful rule, but I currently lack the funds to do so. The 'Atlantic Company' will focus on producing, shipping and selling goods coming from America. Since you work for the Bank of Tuscany, I would like to loan some duckats to fund our first merchant fleet to America, and in return I offer you 25% of all future company profits, which I assure you, will be huge.

From Ferdinant de Almeria, loyal citizen of Sevilla.

((Private))

Antonio received a letter from a young man called Ferdinand de Almeria. He has not heard of him before, yet he is asking the Bank of Tuscany for a loan to fund a trading company. The Bank of Tuscany has only recently provided Aedan an Aragonese citizen with the necessary funds to found a trading company. The Balkan-Iberian Trading Company is doing well, at least the Bank of Tuscany cannot complain about the profits it receives from this flourishing trading company.
Antonio is worried that funding another trading company could hurt the Balkan-Iberian trading company, after all the Bank of Tuscany has invested quite a bit in O'Connery. Therefore, before replying to de Almeria, Antonio decided to consult with his business partner first before giving de Almeria a definite answer.

((Private letter to Aedan O'Connery @cheif bearpaw ))

Dear Mr. O'Connery,

I'd like to inform you that the Bank of Tuscany has recently been approached by a young man who asked us to fund a trading company. Does the Balkan-Iberian Trading Company have any intentions to get involved in the trade coming from the Americas? I do not want to fund a direct competitor of yours. If this business would hurt you then, it would indirectly hurt the Bank of Tuscany, too, because of our flourishing business relationship.
Please get back to me as soon as possible.

~ Antonio di Arezzo, Count of Sevilla and Represent of the Bank of Tuscany in Iberia

((Private letter to Ferdinant de Almeria @ThePatriotOfDreumel))

Dear Ferdinant de Almeria,

The Bank of Tuscany could very much be interested in lending you some money in order to fund a trading company but please give us some time to think about this before we come to a definite decision. While we are indeed open to new business opportunities, we have to evaluate each investment carefully. I will get back to you as soon as we have come to a decision. Thank you for your patience.

~ Antonio di Arezzo, Count of Sevilla and Represent of the Bank of Tuscany in Iberia

Name: Francesco Andreas Maximilias de Soneta

Date of Birth: 13th June 1504

Caste: Noble (Landed with the County of Pirineo)

Religion: Dominician Catholic

Biography: Francesco is the grandson to Alexandre de Soneta, with his great uncle being His Holiness Pope Stephen X, recenty deceased. He has lived a full life, being consistently in Pope Stephens favour, and although he considered joining the fold, being a first born son inhibitied this. He is well read, nearing a geinus intellect, with wide readings into both scripture and developing scientific theory. He is also very capable in most european tongues, but he has failed to grasp the alien nordic and slavic tongues. Despite his intellect he is quite shy, with a unsureness about politics, unlike his Grandfather and great grandfather. His father, Manuel de Soneta, has recently passed, and now the fate of the honourable de Sonetas rests with him, Godspeed to a heir.

(( due to the recent passing of his father, Francesco is unable to attend court to vote, so count this as a abstainment from voting this round Mike ;) ))

Ferdinant was not happy, even though everything in his life was going right, he was missing something in his life. He had money, friends, family, but he just missed something...
Ferdinant thought, for a couple of minutes. He decided to go to the closest bar to get some beer. There he realised. He needed romance! But he realised that getting some random girl from the street would not be so prestigious. He decided to look for unmarried noblewomen.

Adean was sitting in his house when he had gotten another letter from the bank of Tuscany, which also reminded him of some other business he had to attend to, but first things first, reply back to the Bank. So, he took a piece of parchment, a pen and ink and set to writing.

Dear di Arezzo,
While the lands of the Americas have intrigued me so, I doubt that my company would ever take part in the trading in the Americas, as I feel like focusing on areas closer around the Mediterranean sea would be better for my company, so the final answer is that the Balkan-Iberian Trading Company will not be partaking in any trade coming from the Americas

Best regards,
Adean O'Connery

A messenger from the crown had arrived. How he found him so far away from civilization will likely always stay a mystery for Montségur. But however he did that, his message was clear: War with Castile would erupt soon, and he would have to seize their colonies.
The messenger was also strangely well-informed, able to answer all of his questions about the current situation that interested him: How is Castile doing? Which colony will be funded next? Who is in care of said colony? A very useful man to have. Denis composed an answer for king Ferran, of course accepting the task and explaining his discoveries so far, which he gave to the man. 'And don't forget to ask His Majesty if you can join the expedition afterwards.'

A foreign banker has been made count? And he supports some swineherd turned colonist to colonize what? Las Malvinas? These islands Lübecker had discovered in the South? What a waste! What else do they expect to gain there but fish? Nothing! Not like the riches of the New World, tropical wood, tobacco, sugar, cocoa, or even just trade with the natives. They were fools. Well, not such fools as the Castillians, bankrupting themselves. Montségur was sure that their colonies would willingly join Aragon if he shared some supplies and maybe some gold. The Portuguese - he may need to fight the Portuguese. Well, time to prepare for war.

((May as well address a few issues here. First off, you can only have one active character. If you want to play as Jose, you can't keep interacting with the court as Alexandro. Second, every player may only have one title, so Jose can inherit his father's title, but not be given his own, since that would count as two titles for one player. Third, you cannot directly dictate the actions or decisions of another nation, since that would border on meta-gaming or god-modding. You can suggest that the Greeks may favour a war with Genoa or simply say that you personally want war with Genoa to give land to Byzantium, but you cannot say they outright want us to declare war on Genoa for them. It's not like we'll be going to war with Genoa right now anyway, since we're starting a war with Castile. Just thought I'd point that out.))

Mr. Ferdiant de Almeria,
After some debate, the Bank of Tuscany agrees to give you a 10 year-long loan in order to set up a trading company, as long as you agree not to interfere with the Balkan-Iberian Trading Company's business in Europe which is why we ask this to be include in the charter. The offered 25% of all trading company profits are acceptable to us. ((consider the contract signed and the money delivered if you agree to the conditions. I don't feel like doing a lot of bank and forth :) ))

Atlantic Trade Company:

The Atlantic trade company shall ship Aragonese goods coming from the colonies, to the port of Sevilla. The Aragonese holdings, however small, can always be expanded into the caribbean islands, where there is so much sugar, hundreds of duckats can be extracted from there. Or into Brazil, where there is the almighty coffee bean, said to increase a man's productivity by atleast 100%. There are also legends of cities made of gold! And the Atlantic Trade Company will oversee the shipping and selling of these goods in Aragon.
The Atlantic Trade Company will not interfere with the Balkan-Iberian Trade Company, by this we also mean vice versa, we hope the Balkan-Iberian Trade Company will not interfere with us. The head of the company will be heriditary, but shares can be gifted/bought.
The crown will get 20% of all company profits.

(( Private letter to Antonio di Arezzo @delpiero1234))

Mr. Antonio di Arezzo,

Thank you for giving me the loan to found the ATC! Our first expedition will start in a week, and will take atleast 12 months, but we can buy colonial products very cheaply and sell them for way more in Sevilla. But there is one current problem: The Aragonese colonies in America only produce birdpoop. We should petition the king to start colonies in the resource and perfect for plantations Caribbean, it would not only be good for Aragon, it would profit us tremendously too.

Blachernae Palace, Constantinople

The Basileus was dying. The court become tangibly more restive and Armand felt more than one furtive gaze directed in his direction. No doubt the dynamics of this succession would be different from any other. Even if it was not official, Aragon was the overlord of greece and any candidate for the throne would surely need to proceed with Aragonese approval.

Upon returning to his mansion Armand found an unexpected guest awaiting, drinking his wine with a large grin plastered across his face. Petros was the lackey, drinking buddy and companion in debauchery of Michael Palaiologos, cousin to the Basileus.
"Have some wine my friend! I have a proposal for you." The grin broadened.

Armand mentally crossed himself, he wasn't cut out for this.

to its majesty

im writing to suggest that supporting a war between byzantine and genoa would be to the empire benefit after we finish our current conflict with castile from what I have been able to see if Byzantium can seize the lands of genoa across from them they will be in a much stronger position to combat any threats the mamelukes or any of its other neighbors.
