What happens if you mange to get one of the "eternal" monarchs elected emperor??? will he be emperor for the rest of the game??

For the efficient Emperor, get a crapload of vassals as Genoa. A new Doge every 2 years makes for a steady VP rise.
Ha! Try to get elected HRE as Navarra. You'll end up with one of the best monarchs in the game as an immortal monarch and he'll be HRE.
Navarra seems like it would be neat to play anyway (haven't played it myself yet) because it has both French and Iberian cultures. (Basque culture too, but that's a lot less useful than the other 2.)

Seems like it'd be hard to both get your international relations up to become elected emperor, and take advantage of all those french and iberian cultured provinces...
Just play as a country that doesn't have a monarch file (Ragusa, Kaliphate, someone else, and some countries that don't exist at the start of the grand campaign) and you'll get a 7-7-7 monarch from the start of the game all the way to the end.
Oh! I'd really like to see someone playing the Caliphate becoming the HRE. That would be impressing
