So its 1650 and I managed to get all the HRE under me as France. But I have a question.

If I revoke the 6th refom and get the vassal swarm, if I then return a province wihin the empire, and there by release a nation afterwards, does it add to the vassel swarm?

Thx for all help

If you release a vassal with it's capital on HRE territory it will act like a normal HRE prince. --> it will be your vassal but doesn't take up any diplo slot and hasn't the "all vassals strength" liberty desire.

If you release a nation without it being a vassal of yours on HRE territory it will stay an independent HRE prince. It will not count as your vassal and it will not answer call to arms, even though you have already revoked. It will however be incorporated into the HRE if you pass the renovatio imperii reform.

If a nation joins the HRE on it's own after you revoked, it again is an independent HRE prince and not your vassal.

If you release a nation as a vassal on non HRE territory it will count as a normal vassal, taking up a diplo slot and getting the "all vassals strength" liberty desire from all your HRE vassals. --> it will pretty much stay at 100% liberty desire for the rest of the game.

Also, a thing to keep in mind. If you give lands to one of your HRE vassals, and that county you gave is the "historical capital" and they change capital to it, and that province is not part of the HRE. that means that vassal will start to count as a normal vassal and not a HRE vassal, as it's capital is outside of HRE.

(If you have France as a HRE vassal, and you conquer Paris later from let's say England, and give it to France. then they WILL change their capital to Paris, and if you did not take Paris into the HRE BEFORE giving it, France will then count as a regular vassal and not HRE vassal)

With HRE vassal I mean you have done the reforms and have all of HRE as vassals.

No, this is a vassal interaction so you can't do that.

Edit: Had the wrong answer there...

And as a further addition, this doesn't work the other way around. If you conquer Rome, add it to the HRE and then give it back to the pope the papal states can't make Rome their capital again.

But, if you conquer the non HRE provinces the capital will be forced onto HRE territory making it a prince again. However, after revoking it will not be a vassal.
