I made a small change to the inc files for Sweden and Muscovy. St. Petersburg should be owned by Sweden, not Russia. The area was captured by Russia during the Great Northern War.

If you are speaking about the year of 1500, you are not right. Russia gained that territory as a result of annexation of Novgorod in the XVth century. In 1500 it was Russian. Then the province, most of it, was lost to the Swedes as a result of the Livonian war in 1583. But it was no way Swedish at the beginning of the century.

Alright, thanks for explaining that.

By the way, it'd appear that ireland wasn't an unified nation in 1500, but I don't really have any idea about what to do with it since I don't really know what are the nations I should put in its place.

Someone posted a link to that other mod. In the map for that it showed Ireland broken up into it's regions (an actual map, as opposed to game map). It's a fair few posts back in this thread.

Ahh... this bit in particular (I noticed Ireland seperated too).

Also, thanks Terminator for clearing that up (I also thought - wrongly - that it was Swedish).

No, that map from my project is for the year of 1600 which is no good for you because your mod starts in 1500. :) That's why the territory north of the Neva river looks Swedish, - the Livonian war has ended by that time. And by the way Ireland in 1500 was much more splintered than in 1600.

here is a good map of Europe in 1500, but unfortunately the Irish states are too small and I can hardly read their names.

Also, a good reason to make this mod is that Victoria for one has events (unlike EU3) and the economic and population system allow for some things that couldn't be done in EU3 or EU2 (for example, slavery)

From that map, in the interest of tag conservation, perhaps some of the nations ought to be renamed? Have the more general 'Livonia' and 'Prussia' instead, with the ruling parties being those specific religious orders that ran the countries.

That map is good enough to read the names of the Irish states:

Desmond, Ormond, Thomond, Galway, Mayo, Sligo, Tir and Tir Connail. Also some smaller states, their names not shown.

Yes, it makes sence to use shorter designations.

It's not a bad idea, especially since well, we're gonna have to spend a lot of tags in countries like Japan and Ireland since they're about as unified as Germany is right now.

I would not waste the time on the XVIth century Japan. The country was a complete mess back then. Something like a large scale civil war lasting for about 150 years in a row. Japan perhaps could be represented as a unified nation with very high revolt risk to simulate the ongoing civil war among the samurai clans.

Anyway it's just a suggestion and it's up to you if Japan should consist of a whole bunch of semi-independent states or it should be a unified state. :)
It's your choice.

Trying to make some flags and shields, etc... for the mod. The trouble is that many nations just used some kind of crest, instead of an actual flag. Perhaps we should move over to that direction with respect to flags and shields, etc ?? Would make things a lot easier, especially since we could incorporate them from existing Europa Universalis games.
