Is it realistic that one would need specially constructed ships for transportation? Yes.
It's just that I find doing stuff overseas so burdensome cause of the need to build these. For the sake of streamlining gameplay, I really think they should reconsider how the transport system works. The troops should auto-disembark onto a transport...whether you have a transport stockpile or it takes some time for disembarking and consumes resources, etc. It's just so menial to have to build separate transport units when I think said feature should be more readily integrated with the armies.
