So im going along with my fabulous Queen Sigrid, with her daughter with just fantastic stats traits as heir. Only now that my queen is 51  has someone become heir with 2 supporters. What can i do to get people to back Princess Guinheld again? I dont want to go imprisoning and killing people because my vassals will hate me.

Sometimes you just have to wait. Many times they will change their vote back to match yours without you having to do anything. The other thing is to grant titles and give gifts to get that swing vote back. If you have other elector titles you could consider passing one out to someone who has a good relationship with you. Or you can go the tyrant route and imprison/revoke one of the elector titles up against you. Not a great idea if you have a lot of electors since they will all take a relationship hit.

What their is to understand is that it is difficult for a woman to be elected, or any other character that would weaken the realm. So if you have a daughter, you need a lot more support than if it was a son, even more if she is a child. So even if you have 100 opinion, if they have 100 with the character they support, they will choose him. Is your daughter adult? Maried? Matrilinerly Maried? If you are married and your vassals know that your children will go to a foreign house, they'll never give their vote to you. If you have cadet branches, try to pick an heir in them, even if you have to retry to put Guinheld the next generation or, more simply, her children.

If there is just 4 electors and your the ruler, you should only need 2 votes to win since your vote counts as the tie breaker if its 2v2. Imprisoning the other candidate could help, since they would get lower diplomacy or get them excomunicated and then imprison them. You could also kill them.
