I just mentioned this in my post in "Lithuanian Culture", and pithorr had mentioned it before, but I believe it's worth creating a new thread for.

Following the Union of Lublin in EUII, Lithuania is "annexed" to Poland, with the new Poland only gaining lithuanian state culture to represent the Lithuanian part of the country.

We have to remember that this was the UNION of Lublin, and we mustn't give in to blatantly ahistorical sources that will only mention "Poland" after the 16th century.

What I propose is, if Lithuania and Poland decide to join together in the Union of Lublin, that a new country called "The Commonwealth" or "Poland-Lithuania" or even "Rzesczpospolita" <correct my spelling, pithorr or some other Polish person, I don't know the Polish word for it>. This would include a new shield, new DP settings, and perhaps new diplomatic relations? Negative relations with Russia and the Teutonic Order, positive with Hungary and Bohemia?

I also want to use this thread to address general issues with Poland and Lithuania following the Union of Lublin that can be resolved in the EEP.

I don't object to the general gist of your suggestion, but implementing would be an organizational nightmare. All of the post-union EEP events, and all of the post-union Paradox events, that referenced Poland would have to be modified to reference the new country instead. All of the post-union Poland events would have to be duplicated for the new country also - they can't just be changed, since there's a very real possiblity that Lithuania or Poland will refuse to join in the union, and a more remote possibility that one or the other will have already ceased to exist. Furthermore, it's not really possible to prevent the possibility of a concurrent Poland-Lithuania and either Poland or Lithuania or both, unless none of the three can declare independence after 1569.

What about a Act of Union-like change for Poland or Lithuania upon the signing of the Union of Lublin? New shield, new DP settings, new diplomacy ratings perhaps as well? New CBs?

Yes, you are right. The best name would be just Poland-Lithuania like in EU1...
We have already issued such proposal, special shield and flag was prepared, but...
Yes it probably would be a night mare to coordinate changes in ALL countries' event files, however if they could do it for Russia... :)
