This is a thread for China's EEP events.

To start it off, I despise the Manchu events regarding Emperor Congzhen's suicide. Congzhen's suicide should ONLY happen if rebels take control of Beijing during his reign, and even then I believe there should be a way let Congzhen escape because of the fact that Charles the Rash of Burgundy can live. In the 17th year of Congzhen's reign, Li Zicheng (the leader of the peasant's army) attacked and occupied Beijing. It was then that Emperor Chongzhen hung himself at Jingshan Mountain. The Emperor wouldn't of just hung himself out of the blue if rebels hadn't occupied the capital.

China should have more knowledge of India, and the water routes to India.
mapchengho.gif

This map shows Zheng He's voyage. This voyage wasn't purely expeditionary, it was diplomatic. The Chinese had knowledge of India, and basically most places that Zheng He had visited. At the very least China should have knowledge of a water route to India, and a few costal provinces of India.

The event "The Emperor has been captured!", and "Zhengtong returns to the throne" should only happen if China is at war with the Wala Clan in Mongolia. Mongolia is in PTI so this cannot be represented. I am not sure what to do with this event. Perhaps China should get an event a few years prior to the "The Emperor has been captured!" event stating whether or not China should go to war with the Wala Clan.

Emperor Zhengtong led several military expeditions, and should be added as a leader. One of his most notable expeditions resulted in his capture by the Mongols of the Wala Clan.

Currently in EU2 China has a hillariously small navy. Zheng He's great Imperial Fleet is made up of three, count them THREE warships. Heck, even Zheng He's flagship alone could count as three European boats. Most sources state that Zheng He's armada was about 300 ships, and carried an army of 30,000 men. I know 300 ships is over-the-top and China wouldn't be unable to support that many without going bankrupt. The fact is that these ships were like floating villages able to support life independently from China. EU2 cannot represent this so I suggest the Chinese navy be about 50 warships, with 10 transports. Additionally a 30k army should be in the fleet at the start of the 1419 scenario.

On a side note Zheng He should also be a general, and his current naval stats should be maxed out to represent the enormous size of his flagship.

China was very strong. The fact is that during the 1400s China was the strongest country in the world. Denmark and England's navies in 1419 are HUGE (England's is about 40 warships ships, Denmark's is about warships 30). China in 1419 had a navy that was many times larger than those two nations combined and the navy was more powerful.

In 1436 China issued an imperial ban on the construction of oceangoing ships. How should this be represented in EU2? Perhaps if China issues this ban the policy sliders should move the land slider, and autocracy slider totally to the right in order to make building ships costly. Additionally is it possible to have "naval" desertions in events?

This event is similar to the "Result of Zheng He's voyage" but it's based on an acutal Imperial ban ordered by the Emperor. The revolts represent the discontent of the isolationists, and the increasing number of Mongol raids due to the weakening of the Chinese army, and strengthening of the navy.

Emperor Zhengde thought that being an emperor was not fun enough, so he appointed himself as a general, and gave himself a new name - Zhu Shou. While a clan called Dada in Mongolia was invating the frontier, he led the army as a general. In the battle, he killed an enemy himself. He was very satisfied for his battle achievement, so he appointed himself as a Tai Shi¡± (name of a kind of high offical in ancient china).

This is a good event as the player would eventually have to disband the huge navy or suffer high deficit or inflation :)

The value field, to my knowledge (and according to my references, also), doesn't do anything in the explorer command.

Aren't three explorers overkill? Especially random ones, which can sometimes live for decades? Might it perhaps be better to code up a "historical" explorer or two, with known deathdates? Or sleepleader them in choice A (so the explorers are spread out over a number of years)?

And if you use the
Code:
tag around your events and leader/monarch tables and so on, it becomes much more readable. In particular, your spacing is preserved.
