You didn't diplo-annex Burgundy, did you?
In EEP 1.4 Spain inherits Burgundy in 1516, so there's no real need to cede the Netherlands in 1556.
That said, the Hapsburg events are indeed horribly badly done :rolleyes: and ought to be reviewed. Several things don't work out:
- giving France a core on Flandern in 1477 is terribly unbalancing, and no reasonable French player chooses the historical option in 1493 by which he looses the cores on Flandern, Franche Comté and Artois and cedes the provinces. Even worse, the event hardly ever happens since it's very easy to take the three provinces from Burgundy. If it's only cores on Franche Comté and Artois, so that France has to choose between Franche Comté and Artois and its Italian cores (Milan, Naples, Apulia), it is a balanced choice.
- the Martial Inheritance of Brittany cedes Franche Comté to Austria. This makes no sense, the province should be given to Burgundy (if at all).
- as mentioned in another thread, vassalizing Austria to Styria in 1438 is very harsh, and not really justified, either, since Friedrich V didn't control Styria anymore after becoming regent of Austria
- the Spanish wedding event should either be removed or at least have its choices switched around

This works with the grand campagne. I played the 1520 scenario. And this is where the inheritance of Netherlands by Spain in 1556 doesn't work.

Also I don't think Spain should inherit Burdundy possession in 1516. It should be Austria and in 1556 when Karl V abdicated, Spain inherite Netherlands and Franch Conté and the New world and Austria inherite Austian possession, Bohemia and Hungary.

Oh, then it's crystal clear. It doesn't really work out with the old 1520 scenario. Will be fixed in the new one though AFAIK.
As for the justification, the bug thread is certainly not the right place for that since it's only for posting things that are obviously and objectively wrong, not discussing more controversial topics like the treatment of the Hapsburgs certainly is. Post into the Hapsburg dynasty thread (and maybe read it before to get an idea why it was done). I'm not saying the current approach is the perfect solution, but I'm convinced it has significant advantages to the Paradox scheme.

I saw this popped up on the first or second page, but there was no response, so I thought I'd post it again since I'm having the same problem...

I've got NO sound effects. None. Do I need to do something to fix this, or is it a bug?

And you didn't get any even if the sound was raised in the options menu you can reach once the game has started?
Hmm, anyhow this needs to be fixed.

Ha, I'm one of those jackasses tech support guys write home about apparently...

You were exactly right, the sound effects were turned way down, and I hadn't even looked at that, since in the normal game sound effects and music are set to 99's...so I wasn't expecting them to be set at 37 and 11, respectively. How'd they get set so low? This was my first time running the game, so those were defaults.

In the austrian event "Decapitation of Frans Anneessens" (ID 179309) there's some weird population effect (it gets decreased by 1 and 10 in options A and C respectively, from what I recall). I think it's meant to be more. Unless of course it really is supposed to decrease Brussels' population by on person - namely Frans Anneessens :)

Also - maybe we could introduce an enddate to the "Dutch Independence" event? It's kind of bothersome when in 1700's I rightfully conquer Flandres from Cologne and some dutch residue remembers there was some independence war 100+ years ago and merrily skips into Holland's embrace. Getting a province such as Flandres from a global Netherlands with landlocked Austria (navy? Whatsa navy?) is going to be a pain.

It was meant that way:D I just have an eye for detail;)

It looks like a rather serious bug: the Portgual event "Submission of Zanj" should secede Mombasa to Portugal, but Mombasa in EEP 1.4 is no more part of Zanj. Since this event triggers also the events "Submission of Goa" and "Submission of Malacca", the portuguese empire in Asia is completely screwed up in EEP 1.4.

All the Portuguese events requiring 763 (Mombasa) to be owned should have that trigger removed; except for the construction of Fort Jesus event.

Not quite a bug, but the port in Emilia (Modena) was supposed to be gone a long time ago.

The Aragon event (11004?) that triggers the annexation by Spain when they return to peace after 1516 doesn't have an offset. (I think I messed that up.) As a reuslt it will never happen, and Aragon is surviving much too oftne. Put in an offset of 50 or so.

2 More Minor Bugs

Here are two more minor bugs.

(1) In the French Silks of Lyon event, 12148, the goods manufactory isn't being created in Lyon. Thats the major reason for the player to take choice_a as there is a corresonding tax decease in the Lyonnais province. The command line looks fine to me, but for some reason, the manufactory isn't being created. It appears in the mouseover of the event choice, but won't create. I tried triggering the event via F12 playing as France and as another country, and no luck. Any idea what the problem is?

(2) In the Russian event 3423: 2 DP offensive commands are listed in each choice. I was wondering if one of those offensive commands were supposed to be something else, or if they were added inadvertently. As it stands, Russia gets 3 offensive from the choices (2 from one command and 1 from the 2nd).
