Justice of the Peace Hist Text Missing.

Playing England. This event came up with EVENTHIST 3005 with everything else ok.

I checked the text.csv file. The only thing I could see that might be causing the problem is the text description has quotes around it while the other events do not. I haven't messed around with events too much, so I could be in error.

Downloaded latest EEP zip file. The _b exe.

Edit: Blast. Searched on the wrong item. My apologies.

Solution: copy the text.csv from the backup directory into db, and edit it (with a text editor) as described here.

It's not, since it works fine in my game, as well as other *.csv files that are edited, unless you edited it yourself

I see this problem sometimes without the EEP loaded, so it may not be an entirely EEP related problem.

But perhaps EEP increases this problem. It may yet be memory related! People with 300+ megs of ram probably dont have this problem, am I correct?

Nope I have 384 mg's ram and I still get it quite frequently. Got it with 1.04 but significantly less. Everything else works fine exept I noticed that the Brandenburg-Prussia union dosn't happen. Other than that Ijust finished my first BYZ EEP GC and I must say it was one of the funnest games ever.:)

A bug...

...or does my scripting suck?!

I've tried to add some of my own events in the EEP_BYZ.
When I start the campaign an error message appears.
I also get the option to 'ignore it', 'try again' and...'avbryt'...-'cancel'-yes!
I've also created some leaders, which seems to work.
But the error message appears again.

So the question is, is there a conflict editing in the EEP-files?

And oh by the way did u see, I've been promoted to corpral!

eep byz fantacy

Reclamation of Anatolia event have a odd set of 11000, choising in all cases for Accept the Turks would trigger event

The Turks become Byzantines

event = {
id = 90043
that event takes place in 1575 with a offset of 1100 or 3600, i don't know all ready a justed it i my files.
the last of the Reclamation of Anatolia event is in 1575 with that great offset, so this event could happen in 1600 but then you don't get the The Turks become Byzantines event, so all of that accept turks would be for nothing, so the offset should be shorter for the Reclamation of Anatolia events or the offset for The Turks become Byzantines must be longer in order to work properly.

What specific error message did you receive? The new events you added may be using IDs that are already in use by the EEP - I know this causes an error. Otherwise, it is likely a scripting mistake. You should, in theory, be able to add whatever events you want to the EEP, provided that you use new IDs.

"Critical error!", "Scenario files has errors" (I don't know what that comes from :D ).
That's the messages I get.
One time I gor a "Runtime error".

The IDs are the next in line in that file.
In an EEP_BYZ file the last was 23021, I think, I used 23022.
I tried just to add some leaders. Same thing...but the leaders appear and the game works.
Maybe I missed to clean up some of the bad events.

Not a good idea to use those 23000 sequence of events. I'll bet that one is in a different event file. Try a different ID number.

Any suggestions of free ID numbers??
In the standard EU2 there was a file listing which IDs are taken, I think...
Event IDs can be up to 4 billions, so just choose something BIG (like add a zero to the one you had) :)

Or at least do "F12" and "event xxxxx" on your chosen ID before you add it to the file. If nothing happens that ID is free.

English Event Error

There is an error in event 3014 Bloody Mary and Felipe of Spain. The historical option is choice B instead of A, which results in England returning to Catholicism 85% of the time. This gave me a headache testing my early Stuart events until I figured out what the problem was. The simple fix is to switch options A and B. B is the historical choice in that event.

This of course is a Paradox created event, but I think we might like to have it fixed for the EEP, particularly in light of the fact that Johhny Canuck and I doing some involved 17th century English events that will be in part predicated on a Protestant England.

Isn't the historical choice that Mary makes England Catholic?

Yes that is what happened, however, there is no event that has the Elizabethan Settlement and new Act of Supremacy in 1559 that undoes Mary's religious policy. My point here is really that unless we get a new event to switch back after the five years, then England will 85% stay Catholic until the Civil War, which is NOT historical. In the absence of an Elizabethan event, and given that the time between Mary's repeal of the Act of Supremacy and Elizabeths' restoration of it is a mere five years, the best workaround is to swap choices A and B in the event file.

I susupect this is a 1.05 issue. As I recall England switch protestant pretty quickly under 1.04. If they aren't doing it any more it should be addressed.
