Ok Here"s what I have for you.
"In 1605 the king of Gowa adopted Islam. Aparently his invitation to the Bugis and other states to adopt the new faith was rejected. Gowa responded with a series of campaigns in 1608-11, as a result of which islam was imposed throughout the Bugis-Makasarese area." {history of Modern Indonesia since c.1200}. An event for this should probably have a revolt and stability decrease in it and maybe some dp changes. According to this book it had a decentralizing effect but probably a higher overall taxation for Gowa. It also should be noted that this created internal strife which led the state of Bone to ally with the Dutch and bring the destruction of Makassar later on.

As For Matarm, the Capitol should be in Bandung [703]. As for CB shields the problem here is that Matarm in the game is actually a combination of the Majapahite, Demak and then Mataram empires. If we were to give Mataram the CB sheilds for the Majapahite it would encompas most of Indonesia and would be a bit unbalanced. I prepose that we give Mataram CB shields on all of Java [701,702,703,704] and possably Palambang [682] and Badjarmasim [698] since they became under the influence of Mataram during the reign of Sultan Agung. Matarams most important ruler. Bali and Sumbawa should not have CB shields unless you decide to include the Balinese Gelgel Kingdom as a new nation in the game.
Hope this helps you out and is intime for the next EEP. Keep up the good work. :)
Cheers:D

EEP crashes

Ok my EEP game as Russia is going well, I'm at about year 1560 so far and I haven't really had any crashes during the game it just runs a bit slower than normal - I'm guessing due to all the extra events.

however, I get a crash to desktop everytime i try to do a surrender or reload. any clues as to what's causing this?

Don't know, my guess will be not enough memory.

ok I guess I could've posted my specs...i would hope 192 megs is enough. thinkpad a21m 800mhz p3 20gig hd XP

using 1.04 which pretty much never crashes for me w/o the EEP, and even with the EEP it only crashes on the reload/surrender (every single time). don't suppose you have any other ideas?

Mine does too (w 256 mb), but since I play EEP exclusively, can't say anything about a regular GC. How's your Russia game going?

hrm. maybe it'll be magically fixed when 1.05 comes out. :)

other than that, everything is great. I started as Novgorod and had a rocky first 50 years or so but have since expanded pretty nicely...own most of Lithuania, parts of Sweden, the Crimea area, and east to Akastran <sp?>

I read something awhile back about maxing infra first and have been giving that a try (well, some land in there too but mainly infra). seems to be working suprisingly well...have usually focused on trade first.

EEP stuff I've noticed: Baluchistan is a monster, they're like 12+ provinces right now. Persia just formed and joined them in an alliance.

Austria is doing very poorly. Ottomans have expanded west, and didn't move their capital to Thrace, but they haven't touched the Mameluks or expanded east much.

Italy and the German states seem to be playing out totally different than a regular GC. I haven't paid much attention though because I'm not over in that area yet. Do you guys want playtest reports at all...can give it a more detailed look if it helps at all.

Reports are welcome, however, please keep in mind that you can't draw conclusions based on just one game. If you notice that Baluchistan is a monster in 9 out of 10 games, there is something to worry about, however, if it happens occasionally, that's Ok.

Ottomans seem to look more west than east initially, but they go after Ak-Koyunlu and Mamelukes eventually. They do it in regular GC as well.

Italian minors have leaders now, so they're not being swallowed right away (at least not as easily).

Playing the BYZ GC now and I'm having great fun with it. I'm basicly like the ottomans now except I haven't taken out the Mameluks. No CB's yet.
Anyway I've noticed that Baluchistan has done very well in my two games so far. I also get the end game CTD 100% of the time but only after about the 1450's in both games and I have 382 mb ram. When I was running 1.04 it only did it about 50% of the time.
Also noticed that the religion and culture didn't change, when I gained a provence from Zimbabwe that they had gotten from Portugal, by adding colonists. It was at 600 when I got it and I've added 3 so far and it's done nothing. I also noticed that when I first recieved it , it was showing the 5000+ city icon on the map and then only changed after I sent a colonist to it. Not sure if this should be here or the regular bug forum but since I'm running eep I'll post it here.

EEP change nothing in the engine, so that is a regular bug (if it is). Baluchistan gains some provinces initially, but they lose them eventually to everyone around them. If you still see a monster Balu in 1520, then there's smth wrong

I get a 90% chance of a CTD every time I load a game from within anoteher game, or "surrender". Playing the standard GC works 100% fine, no problems whatsoever, so obviously there is a conflict or something with the events/eep exclusive files

Since I can hardly find any mistakes in events, I can only say it's possibly memory

Actually I think it's Windows memory leakage. A good way to check this is to check your resource useage percentage before you start a game and then after. If the percentage has gone down you probably have leakage.;)

Just the way it's supposed to be then... You can only change culture/religion with colonists if the resulting province is <700 (i.e. you must have less than 600 to start with)

Call me a moron but I thought <700 ment under 700 not under 600. Damn and it was in africa losing 3 % a year. I could have saved myself a few hundred ducats and waited till it dropped under 600. Ah well live and learn.

Okay, but then it must be exclusivly the EEP-only files that cause this memory leakage, since it doesnt happen in the standard CG, or what? Maybe 1.05 will fix this anyway, those who wait, will see.

Oh, and scullcrusher, if I was you, I'd just edit the savegame. Personally, it would annoy the hell out of me!

Since users report this problem with the EEP and not without it I doubt memory have anything to do with it... This can happend if you have id conflicts. It will not crash on load but some time during play or on exit.

I don't have any id conflicts in events, however, the number of event files is doubled now, and that might cause a problem.

Yes it will cause a problem if your not at full memory capacity. I had the problem with 1.04 regular, but only maybe 50% of the time upon leaving the game. Since the event files have now doubled it happens much much more often. Almost Twice as much.;)

Nope now that I know that under 600 is the rule there will be no cheating for me.:D
BiB would be proud:rolleyes:
