I absolutely LOVE the idea!

Maybe there sould be some sort of template so the bios are alike in apperance and content. As someone said - let betas or community do the bios. I say, the longer the better (to some extent).

I like the idea!

Even though it might be difficult to implement there´s no need to start ripping it to shreds. If it´s linked to txt file then it´s up to the gamer if he/she want´s to give up the hard drive space and cpu time. Paradox wouldn´t have to do even a single one. I´m sure there are droves of modders ready to take on the job.

It's really a good idea, and the extra text probably wouldn't really affect performance and memory very much if at all. The memory hog is the map, not the text.

I can think of only two objections from Paradox' perspective -

(1) The translation issues, as mentioned. But as has been said, that can be easily skirted by simply leaving a blank space for modders to work with.

(2) Support. This is a trickier issue. If they introduce a new feature, even an unimplemented feature as suggested, that means they have to support it, and deal with the inevitable "OMG I tried editing the text and now the game doesn't run WTF :angry::angry:" posts. Not that I doubt the courage and hard work of the Paradox mods, but it's hard to support a feature that you don't really plan to use.

But all in all, it's a really nice idea. Some of the leaders are really obscure, and it's hard to find information on them at all. It would be great to be able to see who these people were.

Speaking of which, are there any plans for a public HoIWiki? That would be tremendous.

Gee, could you set your standards any lower? Sell me crud, as long as it doesn't crash!
I want something that works, yes, no crashes, but also has some features that make it worthwhile.
A feature like this would make it worthwhile.

We all want a CTD-free game ... (HOI 1.06 doesn't have that many, does it ?)
Maybe you could start a thread on it ... :)

But as forum-server-space hasn't reached a critical level yet there's no reason we shouldn't mention all those little tidbits that we would like to have included, especially if they're easy to implement and would benefit a substantial segment of the community.

Most strategic games (think turn-based like the Battleground-Series or RTS like AOE2) have a certain educational value ...

HOI1 already does a great job with OOBs (ok, not in all cases), technologies and events ... yet all the leaders are completely anonimous ... unless you happen to know from them from some other source...
