Educate child popup

Been a long while since I played ck2 and im just becoming a bit familiar with the new education system.

I get the popup for choosing a focus for the childs education but not for choosing a guardian/educator when the child turns 6, is that WAD or a bug or something? Is maybe the guardian/educator not as important as it used to be? That was at least how it worked a year ago.

Almost impossible to remember to assign a guardian/educator without the popup as I have the memory of a goldfish

WAD. You are not notified of this, neither do you get a notification when the child finishes the educstion unless you educate the kid yourself. Very annoying really.

Guardianship does nothing now but give an opinion boost. You will automatically be the educator of your children. Note that educator and guardian are not the same thing.

Wrong, i´m afraid. The guardian (age 12-16) can, if skilled, influence how the childhoofd traits transform into adult traits. Having guardians with skill > 12 is essential.

You only educate (age 6-12) your own kids by default if you don´t pick a different educator. The educator´s skills don´t matter though.
