Why does German general Eduard Dietl have a new pic in 'DH' while every other single German general is encumbered with pics as stale as week old bread? I for one would love to see new pics for all generals & politicians of all countries. So, does 'DH' plan upon giving us something fresh to gaze upon in the near future? I truly hope so

Finding free for use high quality pictures of leaders or ministers is time consuming task that we do only if really necessary (adding an important leader/minister or adding a picture for a leader/minister that does not have any).
BTW there are mods that replace/add many leader/minister pictures.

This site has a plethora of easy to find & presumably free for use pictures, but it seems it features German generals only. Still, it could be useful.

99% of german leaderpics have one source: the books published by the Biblio publishing house.
these books are the major source of most things which you find in the internet as well (eg if you look carefully, a lot of pics are marked with a "Biblio" in the upper left corner of every page at unithistories).
as these were already used as a source for vanilla HoI, it shouldnt add additional legal problems IMO - if you use exactly the same image.

I believe most of your work is already implemented in the game (1.02.b1)

Also, the pic for Yugoslavian HoS Pavle Karađoršević is wrong. The one used is the pic of his nephwe, king Petar II.

While most of the photos are out of copyright, creators seldom have access to them. Book publishers most often pay image agencies for both the right to access and to use a particular scan of an image. I'd imagine Paradox does something similar, although the costs to licence a very low resolution leader/minister picture would be vastly cheaper than using a high quality image in a book or magazine. Bulk access of simple mugshots probably drives the costs down, too.
