Can anyone please explain why Eduard Dietl is not included among the German Generals.

Kuniworth said:Have you checked so he is not among the lower-rated commanders? Remember grand campaign starts in 1936.

They will die sometime during their endyear, yes. Exactly which time of the year is randomized I believe.FlyingDutchman said:So what happens to a leader on January 1 in the year that is his end year? Do they disappear from command of thier unit and the leader list? I assume looking at the leader file that the date is the year they died since Von Manstien sticks around till 1960.
So each January I could have a lot of dead leaders, ie Germany 1944.

I do not know about the suicide, but I think not.GhengisKhan said:Did they include suicides in this factor ? ( will i lose Rommell even if im winning as Germany )
Yes.Marcus said:While we're on the subject, do research teams pop up in the same fashion?
Does it not depend on how many IC's you've allocated to Production? Or is it a combination? The team exists at its start date, but does not show up until there are enough IC's?Zanza said:Yes.
Thanks.Zanza said:The ICs determine how many tech team slots you have (up to 5), but the tech teams will appear and disappear in a deterministic manner dictated by the tech team database. E.g. the US will get "Kelly Johnson's Skunk Works" in 1943 and Britain's "Dudley Pound" will disappear in 1943 (don't know if he died or retired IRL)
Because when he is alive I will use him to the limit of his abilitiesFlyingDutchman said:Yes Rommel is slated to die in 1944, so what is the point of building up good leaders only to have them die in there historical year. Would it not be better to have a small chance to die any time they are involved in a combat? I may just be tempted to use only leaders that live beyond the time frame of the game that way all my hard work to improve them pays off through out the game. As it stands you have until some time in 1944 to use up Rommels skills and ability then he is history.

If you play it right you might not need him as much by 1944 as in the beginning.
