Editing tech levels

Is there any way to edit a country's land/sea tech level in a saved game? Cause playing Byzantium, I released Persia as a vassal, but forgot they get the same tech as me. So now every 5 years they DOW me and it gets tiring fighting them so many time to no conclusion.

Yes there is, just go into the savegame where persia is listed, and it will have the tech levels listed. just switch the number... or look in the scenario forum for the EU Reader tool, you can change it that way very easily...

its cheating though, and terribly wrong.

as in the game crashes, or it just does not change anything?

it should work... if you are using eu reader (or notepad for that matter), remember to "save changes"

Your tech levels are way waay DOWN, not above the Tag: "xxx" Line.
So you just changed the neighbours tech

One of the last items in your "save game info-string".
