Editing Saves ?

Hi to the community,
I started playing 3 days ago and me and my friend play multiplayer as GBR and GER and we cant ally.... iv read u can change the save games so that they are allies. Can someone please enlighten me to how and which tool/app i need to open the save files.

The save games are in the save games folder in the scenario folder... just open the correct one with notepad.. and it'll open a huge text file

Somewhere in the beginning (use the search if you get tired of looking manually) there are three lines that start with

allies {
axis {
comintern {

If you want Germany to join the allies, simply remove GER from the axis line and write it in the allies line.. if you want GBR to join the axis, remove GBR from the allies line and put it on the axis line..

Then save, and open Hearts of Iron 2, it should work now

Or if you want to create an alliance yourself, remove GER from the axis line and GBR from the allies line and create an alliance normally in the game
